Vipers are the same way, atleast the old GTS's.. So if your doors are locked and your battery dies, you are fucked since you can't open the hood. I can't remember if the hood latch is inside or in the grill but still.

On the F=body you can always use the door key and pop the hatch and climb through the back if the battery is dead.

is there not a key hole on the outside somewhere?

In a c6z, there is a key hole by the liscense plate, pop the hatch, and then there are pulls there that open the doors....
