Just heard about the snow back home. That figures..I'm over here in the desert and it finally snows some. Oh well..just puttin some $ back to get another Fbody..not sure if it'll be a 4th Gen. or another '69 with a LSx.

 

My uncle tunes with LS1 Edit, and they have a DynoJet in their shop. About 80 miles from Longview in Palestine. He does a very good job, and is well respected. Ask around about Montee's Auto World, you wont be disappointed. Hell, I will even go down there with you if you would like.

I just missed the snow!!! I just got in town last night...not a bad day today!!!

 

yeah it snowed anywhere from 8-11 inches all over east texas. it dont stay on the ground for long tho! how was the move? hopefully went smoothly.

 

It went good! 16 hour drive with the u-haul and t/a on a trailer....$300 in gas

Damn! I just read this now, Im literally down the street if its the one off of Fourth and the loop! i wouldve stopped by!!!! Let me know when anyone is meeting up again and i'll swing by now that im partially unpacked

 

Sorry for restarting the thread but i'm in longview too. I usually see guys sitting in the wingstop parking lot off the loop and gilmer, not the loop and fourth, but it's usually ricers and/or rednecks. never noticed any f-bods, or I'd pull in in a heartbeat.
But as for longview being boring, I have been having more trouble finding people to have fun with on the weekends, especially now with the construction on the loop and 259. Maybe it'll pick back up once we get three lanes all the way down

 

Usually on a friday or saturday night around 9-10 you'll catch a few f bodies. But yeah if you show up at the wrong time you'll see a bunch of hillrod trucks or rice lol. My car has been on jackstands for the past too weeks so I havent been out. i'll be out with it tomorrow if the weather is good.

Whataburger on Gilmer rd has a huge cruise night on the first Thurs of every month so next week I will be there for sure!

 

Would be nice if all the old f-bod's would come back out in longview, I havnt been out in along time myself. Last few times i've went out theres never anything goin on.

 

ill be in town in a couple of weeks with a new ls6 in my 2000 camaro with cam/stall all going in between now and then, so well have to get some people out while im there get a trip to a track sometime as long as the motor is broken in by then which is should be drive some up here then a 450 mile trip home

 

if there are a bunch of jacked up trucks, those are all the punk high schoolers with daddys money
however there are 2 guys driving turbo civics that are cool, one of them is running in the low 12's; they are not the typical ricer guys
and my truck of course, it has an f-body heart

 

But where can you get a char polish with grilled onions now... jk.

I will up there visiting in a few weeks before I go on the Hot Rod Power Tour again.

 

I usually see all the good cars driving around later than that so I guess I got used to cruising around midnight. I guess I need to start making earlier trips down the loop.

Yeah my dad usually takes his stuff up there when they're decent(how often do you go? They are recognizable cars if you've been in the past year) and Me and my buddies walk through occasionally.
I'll be bringing my car next month, my wheels aren't in yet

By that time I won't be a high schooler anymore...Yes my dad bought me the car(for pretty cheap) but I spend my own money on mods, do all the work myself, and take good care of it.

 

What time does cruise night start now? I'm gonna try to make it out to this one.

 

There's not really a start time. Cars will start showing up about 4 or 4:30. I tend to get there about 5:30 or 6.
