Do they usually do visual inspections on cars in the Fort Worth area? (like looking for catalytic converters) Because if not I just might get an O/R Y-pipe if they don't pay too much attention visual inspection.

I haven't had any problems passing. I have had all emissions equipment removed, LTs without any connections, and I don't go to any "friendly" places for it. They plug in the scanner and I don't have codes so no problems there, and my car tends to have a group around it looking too. The last time I had a guy in the shop telling me how they didn't pass a GTO for no cats (it was throwing a code) and tint beig too dark. I just smiled and let the guy talk.
What they have gotten me on in the past was the horn no working, tail light out, and a missing lug nut.

No. Its on Hotchkis springs so it isn't anymore than an inch lower up front. With the 9" out back it still sets up a bit. You can easily look under it and I even watched the guy do it. I've got duals out the back and they were OK with it. I'll admit that I was sweating it a bit when he started looking under it.
