Car fell off dyno at school

I'm not a pro like some of you guys, but isn't a dyno pull usually done in 3rd or 4th? 130 mph, not in powerband yet... what gear is he in? seems like the wrong one.
more importantly though, i don't know why anyone would pay 20-30k to buy an eclipse. only mitsu car i would ever touch is a evo.

My 4th does 120 at ~7k rpm. This eclipse must have some nasty freeway gears...

I was shocked to see that a room full of kids would be allowed to stand that close to a car dynoing!
A dyno is a very dangerous piece of equipment. I am around/on a moving dyno all day. I would never EVER let anyone stand on the sides or front of a car while dynoing! Ive seen driveshafts fly out at over 150mph! We have a steel cage fence around both sides of our dyno to stop pieces from flying around the shop and injuring someone. That fence has some huge dents in it!

It was pretty crazy, happened so fast that nobody even moved but we were all sort of expecting it. The car slowly drifted off and the strap snapped, he grabbed the wheel and hit the brakes quickly though. It happened right under 130mph, wasn't even in the power band yet.
Can't wait to dyno my Trans Am lol..

The teacher should be SEVERELY reprimanded for not enforcing more safety procedures on you idiots. Let one of your popped collar little friends get smashed by an out of control car and you'll wish you HAD followed some basic safety procedures.
