if he nails it in second, moves the selector into d, then the car should make the 2-3 as programmed, NOT just because he moved the selector. Typically a big power car that still utilizes the PCM or TCM to shift the trans are programmed to just leave in OD and let er rip as they have all the upshift, downshift, and pressure properties tailored for that combo via software. If he is having excessive kick down time issues, he probably has other tranny probs.

Again, this is from experience, not just blowing smoke. I see a Camaro in your sig, a 4L65E may have slightly different programming than ur 60, just sayin. Or maybe my dad's car is just a pile of **** and the transmission is fucked up, that could be it too.
