Default Diners, Drive-ins and Dives

Not sure here who has watched the show on the food channel. The wife and I catch it from time to time.

Anyways, after trying Mel's diner in Boulder City, NV (near Las Vegas...btw, the diner had great food, their omlettes/hash browns/bread/waffles were awesome), we were watching the show again last night.

This time, the host had another Diner on. The diner is located in Rosenberg, Tx by the name of Bob's Taco Station. LINK: http://www.bobstacos.com/

Anyways, the food there was absolutely great. I just wanted to share if anyone is in the mood for an out of the way place with great food.

Yeah, I need to try out Bob's. My wife went to the donut shop in Round Rock (I think) that was on DDD, where they have "donuts as big as your head". I watch a lot of Food Network.

Probably explains why I'm fat.

That's a great show, Guy definately makes it stand out. The food joints are always hole in the wall places that look insane. I've always wanted to go to a place that was on the show.

There's a place here in Watauga (NE Ft Worth) that he went to called Chef Pointe. Its in a gas station, and its pretty good for being in a gas station. Alot better than most restaraunts.

Is that the place with the snow cane stand too? If so it does look really good. We watch that show all the time and we want ot travel around after I finish school to try some of the places out. Guy has a pretty sweet car too.

It wasn't too pricey, but it would have been worth twice that! Four of us got burgers, drinks and a monster plate of side items for about 40 bucks. Would have spent that or more at a place like chilis and the food wouldn't have been half as good.

Chef's point is cool. Its like 4 star dining in a gas station. The owner, franson is a cool dude too. That place is right up the road from me.
