Default Should we drill or not- VAC on 572

I installing a new 572 crate motor in '74 nova. and need vac. for brake booster, no connection on intake so should we drill and tap the high rise with 1050 Holley Dominator OR buy a thick spacer with connection in it to fit under the Holley?
I do not remember which cam is in this thing, hydraulic runs pump gas and dyno@ 701 any one think we will need to run a vac. can in order for the brake booster to work?
Thanks for any/all replies Johnny

which intake are you feeding that monster with.
the easiest thing would be the spacer but the right thing is to drill and tap the intake to not disturb the flow of cfms at the neck of the intake...
post pictures of the intake

Intake is MERLIN X (for what ever that is)
cam is solid flat tappet
engine app. big block chevy (high block/high deck)
cam specs. installed at 114 intake centerline
valve adg. intake=.028 exh=.030
valve lift .340, .340
durat@.050 .256 .256
lob separ 114

any one think we will need a vac can in order to supply the brake booster?
now back to drill the intake ?
should I drill 'er in front right between 'er legs or drill 'er side saddle ?

Thanks, Johnny

if the carbeurator is not in the way, I would drill and tap here with a 90 degree fitting poining straight back towards the firewall

the best way to do it if you have the right tools (aluminum welder and something to level out the weld) weld and create some type of bung and grind it flat and level for proper drilling.

that area is the only place Ive ever seen them and if you ever want to run the spray the flat area would be useless and it would affect the flow of only one cylinder if you run it there.
I think the weld in bung will be the best and easiest choice.
you have to grind the intake pretty flat before you weld
it has to be aluminum of course and you can get them from different places like radiator shops or order them online from aluminum radiator fabrication sites.
here is a link to summit aluminum bungs...
dont know what size you need or thread but you will still have to drill the intake
