Its a sixteen footer which means realistically 3 people max, when the water starts getting rough you are definately going to feel it, advice on purchasing is this,, Walk all in that boat and make sure the floors dont sink or flex alot, if the floors are bad that is a really expensive repair, Put the water muffs on the engine and make sure it will run and idle, and make sure that the engine Is spitting one or two streams of water out of it, That will confirm the water pump is working, IF they run it without a pump they could have caused serious damage. Look at the prop, spin it and make sure that the whole thing spins smooth and not out of round, that is an expensive fix. Check and make sure the bilge works, if not then they may have used the boat without it which will let water sit in the boat causing damage after time, These are just a few of the things I have learned, I am on my third boat, and really took it in the backside on my first one So I learned. Hope this helps a little, as far as specific info on that model, Dont know there are a ton of manufacturers of boats and even more models. Personally I have never heard of ray craft,,Cris craft now thats another story.....

BREAK OUT ANOTHER THOuSAND!!
Honestly, boats are money pits, doesn't matter if you buy a one or one that is old. They all drink gas, and aren't cheap. A row boat would be cheaper and easier on the wallet.
I have a boat for sale, Check sig

Boats are just holes in the water you throw money into. The happiest day in this boat owners life, was the day I sold mine.

the hull looks like it may be a copy of a Hydrostream Varmint... if that is the case it will be a very ill handling...

Ya every one on this forum is concerned about fuel mileage. Most people that say that never had a boat or started out with a pos. We do our normal maintenance oil change, impeller, cap and rotor and thats about it. we use about $30-35 in gas for an 8 hour day on the water wake boarding. Thats with a 325hp mpi chevy with a v-drive. We had some fun on the San Bernard River yesterday.

SLV_WS6.... i hate you. Im currently wakeboarding behind my dads 21ft baypro. Awesome for fishing, but sux dick for wakeboarding lol. I have my heart set on a wakesetter 23 lsv once i get my career going

OP, what type of fishing is your dad gonna be doing and where? And how many people is he planning on fishing with? There's a billion types of boats out there, suited for all different types of use. Gve us some more info and maybe we can help point you in the right direction.

probably mainly some saltwater fishing.. he really wouldn't complain with whatever bit his hook. probably 2-3 people.. I've found a couple 16' Nitro boats that arent too far away. So far we've probably checked out 6 boats or so. He may end up with something fiberglass or he may even end up with something aluminum.
