FCKN' Retreads
Of all the times of the year for a retread to rip my ******* ac line out of the car..............I hit a retread because someone decided they wanted to swerve at the last minute and I made the decision to go over it so it wouldnt slap the side of the car and dent it, my luck with 100 degree temps coming it broke my damn a/c hose and I have no damn a/c now. ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, Rant over
Hopefully VatoZone or Horeillys has one in stock, damn I wish I didnt stop drinking I could really use a Jack and coke!

I hit a full re-tread on 45 going to Dallas last summer going around 70-80ish on a 2009 Triumph Speed Triple. Every try doing summersaults on hot asphalt? Turns out it's not as much fun as one would think.

A retread is a tire that has had new tread put on (usually tractor-trailers). They take an old tire, grind any remaining tread off of it, and GLUE a new tread piece on. They usually fall apart when overloaded or if they get too hot. My dad's an old trucker, and we would call them "alligators in the road".

Same here. When they are about to go they make a really loud thumping sound, kinda like two musical notes that are outta tune. I had one come apart in front of me in my car and go clear over the roof. I then went home and cleaned my drawers....

One time back in my old El Camino I had a car swerve out from in front of me to avoid a complete blow out 18 wheeler tire, all I could do was center on it and I guess my rear end kicked it up because it landed on the roof of the car behind me, we were all doing 70.

Try rolling through Memphis sometime, youll see one every few hundred FEET on the freeways, there soooo dangerous. A new tire for those trucks is anywhere from 500 to 1000 dollars, where the retreads can go as low as 150 bucks so they use em knowing damn well what happens to the rest of us.
OP, be glad it was you AC line and not your Oil Pan, or floor board, or brake line, or God knows what else that could have resulted much much worse.
