I never thought i'd say this, considering i'm a native Floridian, but I completely agree!
In the 3 years i've spent here i've learned that Texas is pretty much made of WIN (at least Houston is, for sure!) It took me a little while to adjust, but now that I have, I don't think I'll ever go back home, except to vacation and visit the family. The Industry is amazing here and it seems overall the whole 'recession' isn't as harsh in TX as it is elsewhere (EX: My friends/family back in FL are struggling, losing hours, getting laid off, etc..) And of course, let's not forget the muscle car scene here is epic. Florida and Cali, as I've known, is mostly ricer country due to emissions or just general lack of interest in awesomeness.

Anyhoo, glad you enjoyed your trip and I bet the scenery was epic. I've heard West TX is gorgeous, but I haven't made it past Houston as of yet...
If you do end up out here permanently, we'd be glad to welcome another Fbody Enthusiast to the area.

I've done the LA to Dallas drive about 3 times. The funny thing is you make the first leg from LA to El Paso and then from El Paso to Dallas takes the same amount of time. LOL!
The best part was cruising at about 120mph through the Nevada desert in the 'vette. Did that for over an hour.

It was really a great experience.
I really liked Beaumont and areas between Fort Worth and Dallas.
As a whole I think Texas is one of the most beautiful states I've seen, it has many different types of scenary, very interesting geology.

LOL. Yes in Midland. They moved GWs child Hood home to Odessa and someone set UT on fire a few years ago by a presidential Museum. Well there is plenty of room for more if you decided to relocate anywhere here in Texas. And since BP messed up inland drilling has increased making all of us busy all over the U.S
Haha I didn't know about GW's child hood home in Odessa.
What is UT ?
I'm glad you guys are busy we need oil.
I would proudly became a Texan if I relocate.

I was really impressed with Texas. The scenary is amazing, the geology changes dramatically as you drive through.

The only place with a LOT of troopers jut waiting for you is Culberson county. Every time I drive over that section of I-10 I see at least 5 troopers. The funny thing is that the rest of the trip I hardly see another trooper.
I love Texas, the only thing Texas lacks is more mountains

Texas has a very diverse geology and climate. It snows often in the north and virtually never in the south. The western part is the eastern end of the arid southwestern U.S. desert. It's hot and dry there and it's the only part of Texas with mountains. The Gulf Coast and East Texas areas are hot and wet. Arguably the most beautiful parts are in the Texas Hill Country which is comprised of Austin, San Marcos, Fredericksburg, etc.

The differences in the climate and geology is what really amazed me.
IMO I think the various parts of Texas are beautiful in thier own way.
I'm not sure exactly where I would want to live yet because it would be
a compromise between making a living and being happy with the area I would reside in.
I really liked the Beaumont area but the hurricanes are nasty over there.
Plus it would be harder for me to make living over there.
I also liked areas around Austin and areas sort of near the Dallas Ft. Worth areas.
