Default "Tricplate" Anyone heard of this thing? We all need this..

Pretty slick, there's a lot of places offeing something like these things. Tricplate seems to have the best package though. What I really want to know is if it's legal to have it period? Like if a cop pulls you over and just happens to know what it is even though it's not in use can he write a ticket?

These have been around for a while, though I seriously doubt a cop would know what it is.

Free toll roads!

IMO, it has to be powered on 97% of the time so you don't get pulled over for having a blacked out plate... and the of 3% is going through tolls and Highway bombing?

It would be alot slicker if it only had to be powered on for the 3% reasons = going through tolls and Highway bombing...

Probably won't take long before police are looking for this as you are stealing from the state by using it on the tollway. I have no sympathy for people who get caught and fined for these and I am sure they will. There is really only one reason they were created.

I know why the majority would want this, but I can only speak for myself.

And duct tape on ANY part or your car is not smart. Ever...

Looks like these have been on the market for a 2-3 years now and they have won 6 Prestigious SEMA Global media awards !!!

Doubt cops have the time or man power to worry about this.... Hell Radar detectors and Jammers have been around for years and keep getting better...

It wont hurt anything, but all the sticky **** left behind is well, tacky. Guess that's ok with some, but I like to keep it clean.

If you do decide to do that at the track take some pictures. I'm sure everyone will think it's cool looking. lol

While your at it put a big hawk on your hood with the left over duct tape, that would be sick!

Now do you see why I posted this? It's way easier to just flip a swich then to leave your pride at the dragstrip with duct tape.

Not to mention the clean up afterward, where you know doubt have to re-live all the laughter from others as you "wipe away" the pain inflicted on not only your car, but your ego. LOL!

I like the flip plates better... Seems less likely to get in trouble for having when you're not doing anything wrong.

i think these will be pretty easy to spot on most vehicles, especially at night, and they probably are illegal

I always thought of getting something like this for show, but if I really wanted to break the law I would get license plates of other black ws6 cars from KY and print out fake plates.. lol

So no one knows if this is legal or not? (As just a plate frame that is not when it's blacked out.)

If I remember correctly, and I'm pretty sure I do, this plate is illegal. Simply because it has plastic covering the plate, whether you can see through it or not.

How this law is enforced is probably the same as the front plate law - loosely.
