LMAO @ 20k, I have close to that in my setup without NOS/ or Turbo....

So with that said if a shop says they can build a single or TT kit for 20k run and run fast.... I'd bet that 20k it will not be a competitive or reliable setup... IMO

I would say look to spend 30K+ or more depending on your current setup?

To Strini...

Not always true. It just depends where you look. I found a professional turbo builder who was going to build a complete custom turbo kit installed minus headers for 4K. 7K for an engine (with ported heads and cams), 2k to beef the transmission, 1.5K in fuel system parts, 1K in rear end parts. That's 15.5K in parts. The rest you can spend on install and buying what ever else you want. Again this was for my old mustang GT and it's two different things, but I'm pretty sure they are not too far off.

Turbos are nice. But a supercharged engine is better IMHO. Agree with the built auto I've a sixspeed and suspension work. But I love the whine of a supercharger. And hate the lag most Turbo systems have.plus I break my car enough being just a H/C.

Not any where close to baller status... Was just stating a good Turbo set up that will be competitive will run more then 20k, trust me the little things add up. Just call a reliable shop that does turbo cars daily.... LMR, Hennessy, Boostlogic.

Amber, there's an entire Forced Induction section here. My advice would be to pull up a chair and do some serious reading in there. That might help you narrow down your goals a bit and allow you to ask some very specific questions.

Dont let the haters with deep pockets get you down.. I know of plenty of people who have built their own turbo cars for budges of 5-6k and work perfectly fine. So you spending 20k on a kit is MORE then enough. APS twin turbo kit NEW is 7000, plus you build a 347 or a 370 with forged your looking at 7-8k plus the extra 5-6 you'll have left over you can use on tune/rearend/fuel.

If you want a perfect example of a budget build i suggest you check this guy out, he did everything for under 6k.

Now if your going to pay a shop to do it expect to pay way more yes...

You never did answer my question on what it is you are going to do with car. Race only, street only, street/strip, it makes a world of difference.
