Default headers question

I noticed excess heat from under the hood and below the car when I turn it on for a few minutes. Everything in the car seems fine but that hot air is coming up because the fans are on and the headers are like super hot. My engine temp looks normal to. The headers get hot enough to make water sizzle after only a minute or so. Anyone know what this could be?

Seriously?? lol Dude that's normal..

I think most headers will be about 6-700 degrees right off the heads.

If your going to poor water on your headers make sure it is ice water. Its the only safe way to do it.

When my car is running I have hot gases exhausting from the rear.. It seems to be coming from these four round pipes. Should I seal them up? I'm pretty sure that's where I'm losing power.

I'd post a pic, but I can't find where the film goes in my new camera.

Thanks..

I have the same problem but I think it all stems from under the hood. When I step on the gas I hear this sound coming from under there like something is sucking in air. I think it is a vaccum leak. It seems to be coming from this box looking thing. Should I seal it up. I went ahead and threw the filter thingy away. Was that a good idea. Maybe a cardboard cutout what you guys think

The filter was just there to protect the air hole during shipping.. Once the car arrived that should have been removed by the dealer. I'd call GM and report it.

Sounds like you may have issues with something coming into contact with and seizing up the rotors.. I'd have that checked ASAP!

The left one is for the front brakes, the middle one is for the rear brakes, and the right one is the gas lol

Propper use of the "third pedal" also known as "pedal on the left" is when you want a boost of power push it all the way to the floor and step on "gas pedal". Make sure "gas pedal" also known as "pedal on the right" is pressed to floorboard and hold for atleast 2 minutes. Dont worry the sounds you will hear are normal.

I also have three pedals. Not sure what the third one's for either but I can't find the drive slot. My car makes this a grinding sound when I try and put it where drive should be. Is this normal.

I just remembered that I had this problem once due to a bad canooter valve. Make sure its not plugged off. Should be between the cats and headers.
