Vitek's in Waco is the bomb. Home of the Gut pack!

Shoepf's in Belton is pretty good too.

Poke.a.jo's in ATX is also pretty good.

Laurens sauce FTW!

I work out at the Salt Lick in Driftwood and yes our meat does lack good quality. We switched meat suppliers about a month or two ago and the pork ribs aren't as good as they were, but our beef ribs and turkey cant be beaten.

Other than our food I love Rudy's. A quarter pound of brisket for $2 is a deal!

I would definitely try to make it if we set something up.

The beef ribs at Blacks are disgustingly good.

Edit: last time I was at Blacks, a pair of Japanese tourists (man and wife it seemed) sat down in the booth next to us. They had a tray piled high with all kinds of meat. No sides, nothing but a hill of meat on that tray. Not even sure if they had beverages, just a big 'ol pile of BBQ. The meat probably weighed as much as one of them. I wanted to stay longer and see how they would do against it, but we were done eating and I wasn't that curious. I'm sure it wrecked their "systems" later.

We're having a little cruise from Houston to Bone Daddy's near Austin. Driving a few hundred miles for some brisket and ribs sounds like good bbq to me

The only Bone Daddy's I can think of is not "near" Austin. It is IN Austin on HWY 183 (Research Blvd).

I wouldn't drive a mile out of my way for the food there, much less all the way from Houston. The food ranges from just OK to shitty. You pay to look at hotties in skimpy school girl outfits, not for the food.

General Houston area

Katy has Midway Barbecue, near Katy high school on US90

Clute has Brians on Commerce Street near the Center Point service center.

Pasadena has No Name on corner of Pasadena Blvd and 225.

I saw something about a website called 'texasbbqtrail.com' and one day I will visit it.
