I am sure the body work won't be perfect so if I go single stage black ($400) it won't hurt me that much, can always have it repainted base coat and get the body work perfect later on which is what will end up happening.
That attitude is gonna come back to bite you in the *** one day. I understand you working somewhere and standing behind there work but lets be realistic. Your $400 paint job is not gonna come close to any of these guys with vehicles that were restored the right way. Building a pro touring vehicle does not consist of re-painting, expensive wheels, and some new carpet/seats.

I have bought and sold cars and made lots of money doing it. Its fun fixing them up and making a really nice profit. I have done the exact same thing you are doing. But you cant have the attitude that you are gonna throw somthing together and just sell it for alot more than you have in it. I understand you have to make money but there is a big difference in doing something the right way and doing somthing cheap.

I am straight forward with everything I sell. I know what it's like to be bitten in the *** and I don't want that to happen to any of my buyers. Of course this isn't going to be a high dollar resto, it's a budget build and it will be sold as that. The original plan was pro touring but this is a daily driver so it wasn't worth the cost, it will just be a "look alike". The paint will be fine, I was just messing around in that post. It will have a two year warranty just like every other car so if something does happen with the paint, it will be fixed at no cost to the owner. Most of the bad metal was cut out and replaced the right way and there really isn't anything that is half *** on this car. Remember any work done to my car will reflect the shop in a big way because of everyone knowing my cars in school plus I go to car shows a lot and talk about the shop I work at. Not to mention that there have been several customers from this site. If my car looks like ****, my boss looses customers. The day he loses a customer is the day hell freezes over.

I cut a lot of corners on my 80 T/A but I did this car right since I am not going to sell it for a while unless someone makes an offer. I will most likely sell the WS6 first and drive this Camaro every day.

It's not all about the money, I love cars and I love making them something from nothing. I was offered $8k the day after I bought it which would be a $3k profit, that's all I am going to make in the end anyways once I am done. I love this car and wanted to restore it even though I knew I was only going to make the same amount in the end. I have a little more than $10k in it now not close to finished and hopefully will get about 15k for it. Who knows, I could get $20k but it's all in what someone is willing to pay.

Some pics from today, couldn't figure out how to get the damn bumpers off so they are staying on, they aren't pressed up against the car so I don't care. Managed to get the grill and everything else in the way off though. The car is taped up and in the paint booth so first thing tomorrow morning. I am going to be so pissed if my boss puts the car outside when it's done since there is no weatherstripping. Usually he does that and the tape gets baked on or something.

Take those bumpers/door handles/sidemarkers off...it'll be a better paint job in the end...

It's easy to take off. Just open the trunk and there are four bolts against the rear valence and one at each corner. Brackets and all should come off. And on the front, look under the bummper approximately under the head light two bolts.

It looked like there were bolts that went under the rear valence thing that I couldn't reach. The only thing I was worried about was getting paint under the bumpers, there is a big enough gap to where they can shoot in there so it's bueno. I left the door handles and locks on because I wanted them painted, hell of a lot cheaper than buying new ones. I ran into the same problem I had with the black Trans Am though, it's so damn black. Need something to break it up.

It's too late now anyways, it's already painted and looks farking amazing. It has minimal orange peel and is shiny as hell, one of the props of working here . Looks bad because of the lighting so I'll only put a couple pics up for now but will get some more tomorrow in the light. Can't wait until it's wet sanded and buffed! My wheels are on the way too, they had a problem charging my card which is why I don't have them already.

Couldn't find a cowl hood, the spoiler is still hanging up. I just half *** put the car together and then my boss started yelling at me lol.. Hopefully I can get it all together and bring it home tomorrow. I'll get another hood one day.

I think it's going to look sick if I black out the grill and get one of those lower front spoilers.

I will swing by next weekend. Your car almost finished?

Car is nasty inside and I got another fuel leak. Didn't feel like messing with it so it's locked up this weekend.

The two in the background are just parts cars, one is a gt. They have interiors, one has a motor/trans and the other has just a trans I think. The third one is nice, just needs paint and is a gt. Has new tires, new dash and idk what else. I never really looked at it but it does have a motor in it, should run and drive. I think he has all the parts for it, just no interest to fix it. I think maybe he'd take a couple grand for all three? Maybe more, maybe less, idk, let me know how that sounds and I will talk to him tomorrow about it.
