Default How High is too High? (Oil)

Driving in to work today, I noticed my oil pressure was a bit higher than normal while on the highway. Typically it runs around the 70-mark at cruising speed but today it was at ~78 or 79 with the guage topping out at 80.

Thoughts?

I sometimes wonder about that as well. Once it gets hotter then it goes down. I just try and hammer on it when its super high. I feel like it might pop a seal somewhere. lol

I was only running about 2500 rpms but it was a cold engine so perhaps it was high because of that?

Went out to lunch and it's 100* outside so it got up to full temp pretty quick and it was idling at 70psi and any increase in rpm's put it up to 75-78psi.

Hot idle mine's around 50psi, cold idle 70psi. Regular highway speed is around 65psi. WOT it gets to about 75ish...

Yeah I took it to WOT and it pegged 80 - thinking it's a bad guage/sender - considering hard plumbing a true guage and if it's worth the timem/effort/cost
