Red face LQ9 full swap into 1977 GMC Sprint

Okay, very new on here, but I need some opinions. I am wanting to put a 2002+ LQ9 in my Sprint. I need to know if anyone knows it will fit in between the fenders without doing too much. What about the Master cylinder and A/c dryer? Intake height? Engine mounts? I have been trying to find info on the dimensions of the motor with all accessories, but no luck. I am not worried about the P/S lines or the A/c lines as those can be easily fabbed up.

I don't want to spend hard earned money to find out that it won't fit. I suppose also that anything can fit given time and money, but I want to keep this to a budget.

Those seem to be questions you will have to find out for yourself as no one here might know, if a SBC will fit, i am sure the LS series will, i think the LS has better clearance for the brake booster since they have small vlave covers, but i cannot said i have really paid attention.

One of my old SBCs:

Current LS:

If anything, maybe the coils might interfere but can be relocated.

Thanks for the replies. Those pics put it into pretty good perception. The brake booster and hood clearance are the only two really big obstacles. I think though the brake booster/master cylinder could be changed a bit maybe(shortened). I hadn't thought about the coils, good point. The other would be the hood clearance, and I think that I had to I could go for a very small riser on the hood. I don't want a "hood scoop". I want to keep the exterior look of the car as close to factory original as possible.

A small cowl will work and look god, but the coils can be relocated like allot of folks do just to clean up engine bays.

didn't some of those come with big blocks? If so you should be fine all around. They also make motor mount plate kits that make the lsx motors bolt to factory small block mounting location.

Lot's of swap info in the Conversions & Hybrids section. If the LS fits into the old Camaros, they should fit a Sprint...

Thanks everyone. I'm in the process of checking it out. Big blocks did come in them as well. That solves the inner fender issues. I am also going to install electric fans to do away with the fan clutch assembly. I was worried about the hood, and master cylinder mostly..
