Super Chevy show sep 10th-12 2010
so who all went? i attended the meet n greet at Ron craft chev and the turnout there was amazing. last i heard around 250 cars showed up to that alone, however the show itself had a great turnout. the attendance was like it used to be in the 90s minus the manufacturers midway that used to be there. took a few pics but will post em later as i get them off my phone. i will be going back tommorow for the final day of show.

Well I know you saw me Joe LOL! Tim will be there today, but I had to work so I won't be there till after 5 or so to help pick up the cars etc... The ol 93 was looking pretty good Joe! I thought it was a great turn out. They said there was 220 car on the cruise that was a lot of cars that came in at once.

I figured there would be a larger race scene from the newer generation cars. I only saw txcamss and a couple other ones. We left pretty early but I don't recall even one newer Gen vette. With all the high horsepower LSX platforms, not too many seemed to show up looking to race.

WOW that is the first time I have herd that. I thought it was a great show considering it wasn't advertised as it used to be, and the first time back in Houston in 5 yrs. The racing crowd was a little lower than in the past probably from the lack of advertising, but it seemed there were a lot more experienced racers than in the past which was probably a good thing for keeping on time etc... Tim and I took the our class wins with his two cars and one specialty award.

racing crowd was low because payout wasnt any good at all... didnt even pay close to what the typical super chevy payout was suppose to be... still went because it was a place to race tho.. sucked for the racers trying to sell stuff... i remember the last time SC was here there was tons of people walking around the pits lookin and buying stuff, but now we parked on the back road by the ditch and no one saw our table lol... owell... and as for the red ZR1 i saw it run once in time trials and he ran a 12.48 at 115mph.. rumor has it he owns two of the damn things and he had many other nice cars out there aswell...

And having the SCCA out there was awesome!!! first time ever to see road racing like that in person! wasnt but just a few cars doing it but it definately has me wanting to build me a second car as a road race only! tried the drag car camaro out after they had left and lets just say it was pretty tuff on runners, slicks and no front sway bar haha

Yep... Had a blast! Good seeing you out there Joe & Keven. Hope next year is just as fun... and yes, the cruise was awesome. Haven't seen a line of cars like that in many, many years. It did remind me of "The good ole' days" and most of everyone else I spoke to thought so too.
