Haha, I guess thats what I need, or just a spare transmission and drive shaft for the time being, yea that's probably more efficient, haha.
Got another DS and the u-joint wont work with my 12-bolt pinion.![Sad](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_sad.gif)
I hadn't even thought about different pinions. Anyone know a P/N for one that will work with the stock DS and 12 bolt pinion?

The only part number I found floating around the web was PAJ 447 @ Napa. They want $35 for it. I cannot seem to bypass the "select your vehicle" options on the automotive websites like O'Reilly's, Autozone, or Advanced. I am guessing I will just call them to tell them I need the 1310 to 1350 and see what those goons can do.

I found one, Precision 348. Some thread from back in 2004 on another forum, haha. When I called for the availability of that P/N, I started off by asking for a conversion u-joint, he was lost. By the end of the conversation, he still didn't know what I was talking about.
If you find another P/N let me know, as they require a deposit of (1) Arm, (1) Leg and Your first born for the ball joint press tool.

Hmm, two different P/N's. That's odd. I am guessing maybe one and greasable and the other is not.
Yea, I have used the other methods with a c-clamp and over sized socket and a hammer and a vice, but with that tool, it takes a matter of seconds. At least I get it all back.

Figured it out, OE steel drive shafts need the 447 while the OE aluminum drive shafts need the 348.

I honestly don't know anymore. Napa's site says a 447 is Saginaw 44 to Spicer 1350 u joint, and a 348 is Spicer 1310 to Spicer 1350, but other people, places, posts, etc also say the other way around, stuff about 3R, yada, yada, yada. I may just buy both the 447 and 348 and figure it out.
Do you have a Strange or Moser 12 bolt?

Thats what I heard too, but the 447 P/N is 1344/1350 and 348 is 1310/1350 u joint, according to Summit and Napa.
I think 1344 is the same as Saginaw 44, it would make sense anyway.
Napa 447 Summit 447
Napa 348 Summit 348

ill get my turbo setup finished up, bolt my ET Drags on and well find out for sure.
seems the sizes are close enough that it would not necissarily be obvious which was right or wrong if you only have one to look at, but i went to the track on this joint so i think its ok, 1.75 60's
