Default fake id question.

Ok a "friend" was at a bar using a fake Id about 4-5 months , he was 20 and had like 3 months till he turned 21 . the fake got taken up at the bar no big deal he thought it would just get thrown away. Well he just got a letter in the mail 5 months afer it was taken from the department of public saftey/fraud saying his drivers liscense is on alert status untill he goes into and interview at the departemtn office. It says that they wil be conducting a criminal investigation and could result in a 3rd degree misdemeanear. or more. for counterfiet IDentifications. What should he do? Hire an attorny? didnt think something liek this would happen

Getting an attorney would be a smart thing for him to do. Using fake identification is a serious crime and I'm sure he doesn't want to get hit with that charge. I can't believe you weren't aware of it either.

If he was using a fake id, how did they get his real info? I'd say lawyer up.

It sounds official to me:

Well he just got a letter in the mail 5 months afer it was taken from the department of public saftey/fraud saying his drivers liscense is on alert status untill he goes into and interview at the departemtn office. It says that they wil be conducting a criminal investigation and could result in a 3rd degree misdemeanear.

In my fake ID experience....

Got taken from me at a very busy/popular bar in Irvine, California. Was a CA fake ID. They called the Irvine PD that was at the spectrum (Since they have a precinct on site..). I was pretty drunk/belligerent(sp?). They took me back to the station, asked some questions, where I got it- etc.

Next day I kind of tripped out, thinking and reading online how bad it could go. I just went to the court date, commissioner asked if this was my first time, I said yes. The charge was dropped to an infraction and I had to pay $53 in court fees and another $50 to register for a class that happened on a Saturday at a local community college. It was 6 hours long and it was a "Drug and Alcohol Awareness" class. It was hilarius since they do that class for the first 3 times you are caught with 3g's or less of weed. Bunch of pot heads asking the cops the most ridiculous questions ever for 6 hours. No harm no foul. Not a big deal.

***NOTE: This WAS before 9/11/01, so they could definetely be more interested in where you got it, if it was a decent fake.***

This thread is hilarious. I remember a kid who had a fake id. For the picture he was wearing a shirt that said "I'm an idiot, but atleast I'm not you." Well, only the top half showed up in the picture so it just said "I'm an idiot". Probably one of the worst fake Id's i've ever seen.
