i know there are other Mile events, but is The Texas Mile "the big one" of all the mile events?

Yes. Maxton Mile, Mile in Florida, etc. I've been going to the Texas mile for the last few years, and it is amazing how much it has grown. It has a large airstrip, strict tech rules, and they allow the fans to get in the infield for great viewing. We set up in between the 3/4-1 mile mark, inside the pits. When the drivers come by after a great pass, we get rowdy and cheer them on. It's a lot of fun.

Every Mile event is unique, but the Texas mile is set up well for fans.

I really admire that statement. LSX power > aerodynamics.

Keeping my fingers crossed. Last 2 years have been great weather. Hope to see some people out there. I'm bringing a pit with a few ribeyes, filets, chops, etc. We will be at the 3/4-1 mile mark or on the hill overlooking.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER SOUTH TEXAS TODAY...

ADEQUATE MOISTURE AND STRONG LOW LEVEL SOUTHERLY FLOW WILL COMBINE WITH A STRONG UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE MOVING OUT OF NORTHERN MEXICO INTO SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS TO PRODUCE AN ENVIRONMENT FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE REGION TODAY. ISOLATED TO SCATTERED STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP LATE THIS MORNING INTO THE AFTERNOON AS THE UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE APPROACHES THE AREA. LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS ARE THE MAIN THREAT FROM THESE STORMS. BUT THE ATMOSPHERIC WIND PROFILE IS ALSO FAVORABLE FOR ISOLATED TORNADOES TO DEVELOP TODAY ESPECIALLY OVER THE VICTORIA CROSSROADS REGION. RESIDENTS OF SOUTH TEXAS... ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT WILL BE ENGAGED IN OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES THIS SATURDAY...

Tell him to take that large wing off. Maybe that will help.
