235 back to Zero would take some room and prolly toast any brake setup, You got to think that an Airstrip runway is about 1.5miles long.(if my memory serves me right)...so Stopping from 235 to 0 in half a mile would be very hard on yoru brakes without a Cute........ something to compare it to would be T/F Funny cars trying to stop without a cute after their pass..that's prolly the only thing I could compare it to off the top of my head

I'm sure someone is going to say it "Well if it would have been a Vette or F-Body and had an LS1 it would have gone faster and that wouldn't have happened..." Just judging by how stupid some people are on this forum sometimes...
Richard is a VERY lucky man, and he is not new to cars. So this wasn't a "rookie mistake"

From what the people at the end said the car was up 10-20ft in the air at one point during the initial launch and flip... I was by the timing board and we just saw smoke, **** flying, etc... so we tore up to the BL/UGR camp area where we had made base camp to see what was happening.

I have a picture of the car that I cannot share, rather I don't want to be the first person to post it. Someone is in the car looking like they are getting something out of it possibly. But I am not sure.

Yeah we parked literally at the end and we showed up 10 min before this happened. Taking my girl there for her first impression and WOW couldn't explain much after that. She seriously doesn't want me running now. Beside all the bs that's going around, glad to see the man walk away from it in the end. Seemed sureal for sure.

When NHRA was still 1/4 mile, I was (still do) work at the last turnaround at HRP during the Spring Nats. I have seen top fuelers stop from 330 on their 3/4 mile (i think that's how long it is) shutdown. nd they only have rear brakes. Funny cars have front brakes also.

She doesn't like it still but knows I love to race at the track.

I know one of the film crew guys out there got decent footage of the wreck; I watched a playback on his camera. I'm sure he's shopping it around for a buyer (as morbid as that sounds), and it will be out eventually.
