Long time DFW residents (old guys)
This is for guys who were driving before 1990 and the LS1 was just a wet dream lol. I just moved back after 24 years. Last weekend was my first here. Some of you may recall the time when Cooper St in Arlington was bumper to bumper hot rods on fri and sat nights with topless chicks hanging out the windows. There was a spot in Dallas as well. Everywhere you went it was just hot rods, major scene. There was also a nice little strip of Trinity Blvd behind Bell Helicopter with 50+ cars but I won't speak more of that Was out this friday night and saw nothing. Didn't even hear one cammed car. Was kind of expecting that but was hoping it wasn't so. I guess it's just Cars and Coffee and restaurant parking lots now?

Dallas has really cracked down on the "scene". Its been a while but they are constantly switching spots becuse of "problems". Get with some of the guys at the meets, they should be able to hook you up. It is almost winter to and it calms down. I don't know if you heard about the rash of motorcycle accidents too lately. I'm sure it has to do with the crackdown also.

Yeah, Regal Row I'm just wondering if there are still any cruise spots left. I can handle standing in a parking lot for about 10 minutes. I drove all through HEB and Arlington and saw nothing on the roads. Used to be a hot rod at every stoplight. Either there's a place I don't know about or everyone is at home internet racing nowadays haha. And I don't know what up with these week night meets, it was like that at the other places I lived. It seems no one has to get up early and go to work anymore.

Regal used to be where it was at.. I drove a 93 5.0 back then (I know, I know) and everyone used to tell me never to go past the railroad tracks. Well I did one night and good ol Dallas P.D. was sitting there waiting for me

Well, if I remember correctly, it started getting really bad when there was a bad accident out on N.W. Highway in front of the liquor store. I think it was a BMW that was racing and plowed into the crowed killing a few people.

Yep, or even earlier in the late 70's in DeSoto rolling Hampton, and racing on the "back then" desolate IH 20 service road where the Home Depot is now at on Wheatland Road. Bet very few here go back that far.
