2011 5.0 Mustangs....
#101
I laugh when mustang guys bring this up. You seriously gonna talk about cubes with the actual motor is a hell of a lot smaller?
Look at this picture (I know it's not the 5.0 and ls1 but these motors are very close in size)
btw: No hating from me about the new 5.0. Bad *** motor no doubt.

Damn, gone for 1 day and this thread explodes...
Moral of this post you knuckleheads, is to make us lsx guys aware if you happen to come across one you will need to have your a-game on. No longer can we leave it in 5th going down the highway to pull away from a pony. Now we have to downshift a few gears.
Speaking of that I have driven 1500 miles (a month) since I bought my caddy and haven't raced nothing. Where are all the fbody's and mustangs at?????

uhhh... ok. your right.
I like the fact FORD waited until their sales suffered before they offered FORD die-hards a "Value" product.
Yea. there was no reason to produce a better product. There sales were great so they kept selling a product where, often times, was in the "loosing" column.
I'm not arguing any specific point, It is fun posting in this thread though. As I said before, I like GM products.
It is a matter of preference though.

I like the new 5.0 GT, it seems like a nice car that finally can keep up with an SS Camaro in stock form. Price seems a bit too high though, they should have shot for low 30s to be dead competitive with the Camaro. High 30s and it loses my interest, as I'd sooner just buy a 1-yr-old GT500 instead for a couple grand more. I really dig the '11 GT500 with the all aluminum longblock though. Similar engine to the Ford GT supercar, and we know how that one responds to boost.

You are correct Tony, I waited until the new aluminum motor came out before I bought it. Very nice and smooth car to drive also
. Now if I can just get off my *** and call KB, I can test the boost theory on it.

Im not really understanding what the big deal is honestly. Nobody who is in to racing keeps anything stock. The aftermarket is bigger for the ls family and the sky is the limit as far as hp and speed, maybe later the 5.0 will have more following. Until then everyone has to admit the new 5.0 isnt a joke and all the fbody drivers better be packing some mods to compete. Is everyone really that afraid of competition?
Hell Ive got a big slow 4wd truck, but with the touch of the 4wd button I can put down the power from my blower and outrun much faster vehicles...from a dig.

I can honestly say, i if get out run by a new mustang, they still have more in their ride than my 500$ mullet machine with a 700$ truck motor. Now, when i go with something other than stock 317s, like ported LS6 or aftermarket, then it gets better, otherwise, a cammed LS3 in my lighter shitbox will run way better than in the fat pig 10 camaro.
But, i am still driving a shitbox, and that has to hurt some feelings getting out ran by a carbed truck motor mullet ride. LOL

for 6 years they wanted @ 511, but i know i could have dipped into the upper 400's, but i didn't think the GT Premium was worth it.
i'd take a 5.0 Brembo Package for $511 a month - that's for damn sure !!!!!

damn, i just got done reading this thread in it's entirety.
there is a high abundance of pissed off GM people in here - and rightfully so.
how the HELL could Ford design an engine with 5 liters make as much power as a 6.3 !?!?! HAHA !!!!
and not only that, the freakin car runs 12's right outta the box for $27K !!! HAHA !!!
yeah, if i bought a $35k LS3 i'd be pissed as well.
