What are the quater mile times on these new stangs?

We buy our cars because thats what we want period. It's the same stuff on every form. Whats the ponit to this power, dollar per hp. I can argue a point with the best of them. Blower ls cars been making that 550 number speak of for a long time.
Did I mention dollar per HP? We all know you can get on Craigslist and buy yourself a rusted out 10 second turd of a bracket car for under $10k. I agree with you. The whole "Well I can buy an 01 Z28 for $8500 and do a h/c/bolt-on and beat the crap out of a new 5.0 for a third of the price" argument is really gay.

I bolded a good point. I agree. Buy what you want, but don't bash the other cars just because they put out similar power to yours but sport a different badge.

That is in a whole new league... It's not considered a motor anymore. It's classified as a rocket, it was developed to power a Japanese Space Ship that never was finished...

No way, dude!!! Ford engineers were not smart enough to build a motor with good power until last year! The Coyote 5.0 was made overnight last year when Ford kidnapped some GM engineers and forced them to build a real engine!

You know what the difference is between a Ford engineer and a GM engineer? After/during college one got a job offer from Ford first and the other got a job offer from GM first.

Never once did I bash the stang. We have owned 6 Mustangs and they were great cars. I was not talking about an old **** box car either. APPLES TO APPLES. New SS to the Mustang 1/4 miles times and how many dollars to get there. A new SS with a blower will put down the same #s 550- and up. Nothing new they have been doing it. I like all cars more so the ones that run and have a/c. I will drive anything even one of those art cars as long as the a/c works.

Honestly, I heard they actually powered small alien ships and were given to the Japanese as a token of the aliens' appreciation for the Japanese government giving them 2 VCRs, a toaster oven and 4 shares of Sony stock.

I almost bought one last weekend...after my $8000 down pYment they still wanted $511 a month for 6 years...

They started at $578 a month hahaha !!!

Coulda dipped into the upper 400's but it was a Premium GT...the Brembo Package just looks so much sexier...

I'll go back in a couple months...if not, the guy will call back if he wants to negotiate a bit more...

The new Camaro, looks better, sounds better, rides better, but it is heavier...

New mustang, looks like **** from the previous design, is lighter, has a better interior so i hear...

Mustang is putting impressive numbers with a 302, but the LS3 is going near 500 RWHP with mods. The 302 probably doesnt have much left for heads i imagine to be capable of that much power from that Ci.

The new shitbox stang has a ******* retarded 1ste gear, hell, 6th is over drive and 5th is 1:1, unlike the GM having double OD. If the lighter and better geared stang was not faster, ford would have to just shut down.

They are both nice and have ups and downs, but i still like the Camaro better, just looks more aggressive and sharp lines, like my mullet machine third gen, that is why i like it as well.

That is why i loved the 05-09 stang body, now the fucked up and rounded the **** off and i hate it. Why i like the 85/86 stang, then the 87-93 frint end, rounded it off.

Call me picky, but both platforms are great, but i am still a GM lover and pissed they killed Pontiac.

isn't that getting close to cobra prices?

i'm just glad we actually have all 3 brands competing against each other again. i know i can't do some of the builds that people do with the crazy 1k hp but it sure is fun to watch.

I paid less than that on a 2011 2SS fully loaded minus a sunroof, ground effects and 22" wheels.

Not bragging, Im sure I could have made a better deal had I had cash to put down ( I traded in my '07 Malibu DD). I got a Super stellar interest rate through State Farm and showed up with a check for a pre-negotiated price and told the finance guy to "hand over MY keys".

I think overall the price I paid for LS3 will take me a long way when I'm ready to add mods & boost. In a couple of years I will look back and say to the 5.0 2011 guys "no replacement for displacement"

5.0 Mods/boost = Fail
6.3 Mods/boost = FTMFW!

And I still paid less in the long run.
Laughing alll the way to the bank bitches!

Yea.

I'm a GM *****!

I love the LSX platform. It would be a very tough decision for me if I were to go out pony car shopping tomorrow. 11 Mustang vs. 11 Camaro SS

Both are relatively even in stock performance. Exterior styling is a tossup. I give Ford the slight edge in interior styling and a slightly bigger edge in available options for the money. Camaro wins in the “muscle car” feel category because we all know the LS motors sound like absolute beasts with an aftermarket cam.

For me, it would come down to “do I want a nice choppy idling h/c SS?”, or “do I want a roots blower powered 5.0 with that classic 2-chamber Flowmaster Mustang exhaust note?”. Like I said, it would be a very tough decision.

Or…do I go with a ever so gently used 2008 LS3 powered C6 Z51 equipped Corvette?…or maybe a Silver or Black 97-99 Viper GTS?...or maybe a fully built mint Stage II 9 second 1987 Buick Grand National?...hmmm
How's about option 3, a Buick Regal?

My boss just ran his the last weekend at the local track and ran a 11.51 with bolt-ons

here is his post

went to prairie hill saturday night

11.51 @117.24
1.53 60'
7.35 @ 96.46 in the 8th

6 speed 3.73 car Brembo Upgrade car

only mods are steeda cai, sw longtubes, bbr tune, flowmasters, aluminum driveshaft, slicks and skinnies

no weight reduction other than wheels, mufflers, and shaft

it's got more in it with suspension. still running completely stock suspension with FRPP lowering springs.

All the prices I've seen listed on here are way high. You search around and you can get a base GT for 28-29K and a Optioned Brembo car for 32-34k. My money is on the new 5.0's Ford and Roush just released their supercharger kits with warranty and are putting down 525-575 to the wheels with warranty. I find it funny how people can't give props to a good design when they see one. GM has a great engine but stuffed it into an overweight pig of a car with a weak rear. The Challengers are the same way. That's been my only complaint on the new "muscle car wars"

They had a California Special (looks much better than the stock GT Imho) for 31k at Maxwell ford in Austin. Brembos and all. That was about 3 weeks ago, so I'm guessing it's gone.

I went to look at a '10 Raptor with the 6.2, but there is no way I am paying 5K over b/c of "market value".
