they better be close to the 400 hp margin
my engine was designed in 1997!??!?!?!?!
5.0 was done out late 2009.....
LONG TIME those ford **** engineers had to make a few extra ponies to keep up with an engine that is way older and wiser

I don't get all the hype behind these cars, LSxs have been doing it for over a decade.

Clean Heads/Cam/Full bolt-ons LS1 Fbody = $12-14K max

New CAI, exhaust, tune 2011 5.0 = $30K+

Take your pick I guess. If I was going to spend that much on a car, I'd rather save up a little bit more and get a C6Z.

I wasn't aware there were LS1 cars running 8's 6 months after their release.

Easy guys. I'm not ripping on the LSX platform. I'm just defending the little 302.

If you don't think Ford engineers could put out a high HP N/A engine, you are sadly (ignorantly) mistaken. When you lead in sales during all those years, where's the motivation to go that much bigger/more powerful?

That’s right. I bought a “beater” with 16k original miles on it for $5900 last summer to use as a commuter car. I’m content with that. It keeps miles off my very cheap and inexpensive truck.

Then again, I’m not sitting here defending it’s (the Regal’s) honor by trying to claim it makes as much power as a 2011 (insert mid-sized 4-door here) and calling said car a piece of ****.

Get it right.

T/A = Batmobile

LS1 Camaro = Catfish

4-door Regal = Grandpa with an oxygen tank

Yeah, man. Ford has been trying for 10 years and they finaly were able to do it.

Which company is it again that went bankrupt and is now under the US Government’s control? Who didn't take money from the US government? Who's stock is at $16/share and who's is frozen at 75 cents/share and not even traded anymore? If you want to talk "failures" from within an automotive company, we can do that.

And don't jump around like a catfish in low water about it
Going from one idea to another.

I don't. It's their base pony car and it outruns the Camaro SS in stock form.

Ford is behind in the 2-seat sports car class. No competition being put out for the Vettes.

Exactly, doing that is the equivalent to a gay guy going to a strip club. Why come to LS1tech if you bash GM? Why go to a strip club if you're gay?

Being an engineer, I'm sure you realize it's not up to you on what you produce at the workplace. It's generally up to the client first.

To insinuate Ford engineers don't know how to build a high HP engine is just goofy.

Sports car is a Sports car with 2 or 4 seats... IMO

But take the 2011 CTS-V Coupe or 4door > 2011 GT

Performace vs Performance GM > FORD
