I'll watch it, but certainly not as a replacement.
The original is MUCH better. These guys seemed too scripted and stiff.
The viper/chopper scene lasted about 5 minutes too long, which got pretty old.
My brother and I said the same thing about Buzz Aldrin....couldn't get anyone else?

the show was decent, but is cant hold a candle to the Brit version. i will still be watching the show, but it will be a show by show.
i am now waiting for a 2 hour special. Top Gear: US v. UK, US Stig v. UK Stig.

Tanner was good but needs to loosen up, the big guy has potential too. Get f***ing rid of that comedian douche. He stinks up the joint something fierce and has no place on a car show.

the big guys name is Rutledge Wood. He does a lot of nascar **** i actually met him at a mexican restaurant about a year ago when we were at the races, kyle petty was with him they were pretty damn funny we had a room reserved next to their room. Eddie Gossage JR. (President of Texas Motor Speedway) kept taping me on the shoulder and then closing the curtain durring dinner well after the 3rd time he did this i stuck my head through the curtain and there was kyle and rutledge laughing and making jokes they ended up coming over and signing autographs and i have to say rutledge was really cool and he was funny as ****, kyle petty on the other hand was nice but not nearly as funny. About the show i dont know why everyone is hating on tanner that dude can drive, i thought the show was pretty good all in all, give em a break it was the first show, they just need to loosen up a bit.

I have watched original UK Top Gear for years. When I heard they were trying to do a US version. I knew they couldn't make it as funny or entertaining. That said, I did watch and have to admit that it was better than I had anticipated. I have to agree with everybody else. They need to create new things not just copy The Stig and the guest in a cheap car. Tanner probably is Stig, or should have been because he can drive much better than he can host.

I guess you have to remember that The UK Top Gear just got out of it's what 14-15th season so they have had a long time to get it together. Plus I have heard that Top Gear is UK's top show so that means they have a lot more $$ to spend right now. Either way they have bad *** cars so as long as they keep some good American cars in the mix still way better that most of the other car shows.

my biggest problem with the US version is they are trying to be to much like the UK version. They should try and form their own identity.

I watched and thought it was pretty lame compared to the UK version. Tanner Faust is a d-bag, IMHO. And I agree, they tried to hard on everything, didn't have any of the chemistry the UK hosts do together, and need to make their own stuff rather than copying the UK show. If they copy anything, it will fail in comparison, so why not do new stuff and set their own bar?!
