income tax rebuild. need advice
Here's the deal. I'm planning on doing one of 2 things with my income tax. Ill have 1500 to 2k.
1. A buddy of mine has a Ls2 from a gto with 40k miles I can buy with 243s
2. Or I can rebuild my (cough) 220k mile ls1. I figure if I spend wisely I can get heads cam bearings gasket kit. Headers exhaust used. It could be like a new motor.
Advice pros and cons please.

grab the ls2 stick it in your garage as an insurance plan. keep the ls1 in the car, but buy parts for the ls2 a little at a time over a fairly long period and before you know it you will have a monster that's ready to drop in.
i'de have a custom cam ground, ported l92 heads, FAST 102, kooks 1 7/8, supporting mods, a good lawyer, etc etc.

Brian that really was my plan. Get it to be a monster before I drop it and drive this one in the dirt. That is probably the route I will go but I've been reading about it and some say for the weight/horsepower its not worth it. On the upside ill pay most of it with tattoos and ill have some money freed up for mods

Like someone else said. If you get the LS2 then dump the intake manifold unless you want the back piston to burn up. Poor design makes the rear piston run dangerously lean.
