Default Deer Park Muffler RANT!

I just got home from there. I have been going to them for YEARS, all my exhaust work has been done by them.

I get there and walk into the office. Some kid walks in there and is like "how can I help you".. I explain to him what I want. He looks at me and looks confused and proceeds to go get the owner. Which The owner is a family friend so I figured he would recognize me and give me a okay deal like usual.

He tells me he didnt quite understand what I wanted so I said..

"I need a peice of pipe cut off.. (then he said "thats all")"

I said yeah to that and he said "well why didnt you do it yourself"..

I replied "Because I need other stuff welded on, the cutting is the only real work you gotta do - I was joking with him with a smile on my face". He said oh so your being a smartass.. I told him no.

He came back as a total ******** he is and said " well I think you just need to take it to Meineke"..

I said I would rather do it here, not there.

He told me to put it on the rack, I said I dont KNOW if it will fit, its lowered (Im on sportlines)..

So he proceeded to say "then just go to Meineke" while walking out of the office. The dude that was in there I asked him WTF is his problem, he is a family friend and thats how you treat people?

So I got in my car and left while leaving nice black marks infront of his so called Business.

How the HELL can you treat people this way in owning a company? Im the assistant Manager at oriellys and I would NEVER tell someone the **** he told me. I will NEVER go back there again. Ive been doing business with him since 2003.

/end rant. Just pisses me off how he handeled the entire situation. I had full intensions in getting the work done and paying whatever price he gave me.

Had work done there waaaay back in the day. You should've got a hold of the ol'man. Owning a business small or big, the owners should've found out what had happened. GL

yea you will hear stories like this very often from that shop! always a dick but does good work. never personally had any confrontations with him but know quite a few friends that have lol. most of my recent work i have had don by al's muffler in pasadena. qaulity wasnt as nice but he was also willing to do stuff like weld in subframe connectors, lca relo brackets and also lots of other little projects as such. and they dont care about emmisions either like DP muffler. Meineke refused me because i didnt have cats. got my own welder and tube bender soon to to be purchased so forget all of em now!

His lift is like made for trucks or something.

Nothing of mine EVER fit on there without either getting stuck, or having to use boards.

I should of brought him a beer. He would of done it for free

I went there with an exhaust rattle. The guy had me drive on the rack. He did a few things. No charge.

Unfortunately, the rattle is back. I don't know why.

not cool at all to see your experience with him. i put Mark in his place a while back and never had a issue with him since. most of the time ive seen him do business he acted like he was doing you a favor. gotta make it clear your $$ doesnt equal a favor its strictly business.
