Default Can Anyone recomend home painters (interior) and wood flooring people?

Am closing on a house in a few weeks and would like to get some work done before I move in. Looking to re-paint whole interior of house, it's fairly large 5BR 3.5 bath ~4100 sq ft. Also wanting to get hardwood flooring put in living, dining, and master BR ~1100 sq ft total. Any idea what it will cost? Got some rough quotes so far at 3500 for paint (one room was a media room and needs lots of work) and 6.5K for engineered wood installed. Is there any problem going with actual solid hardwoods in houston? The lady that gave me the quote was saying engineered is better here b/c of the moisture/humidity... that true? if anyone has used anyone that did good work for a fair price let me know.

I have heard as well you want to go with Engineered wood instead of real wood for the humidity reason as well. I plan on doing my dining room in engineered wood as well.

My dad does this type of work. I can ask him and see what he thinks. And I'm sure he can hook it up with a better price

If anyone knows anyone up in the Cypress area I may give them a call. Only issue is mine is such a small job (132 sq ft) not sure anyone is wanting the hassle....

For comparison for do it yourself folks I just did our living room in 30 yr laminate and it came out to just about 1500 and a weekend. Total area was a little over 600 sqft.

3500 seems reasonable for paint as long as it is high quality paint

Yes they do! 'Rugs by Alan' is the business name. Alan and John knocked out our floors downstairs and I am about to have them do a granite counter top for our wet bar...great pricing and honest guys to deal with.
