You were misinformed. It is 25% front windows, no limit for windows behind the driver unless you have no rearview mirrors- then it is also 25%. Eye brow not below marker on windshield.

About the max you can put on is 27-30% VLT aftermarket, because of the factory tint...even if it appears there is none.

They'll give you 1-3%, sometimes up to 5% depending on the station inspecting/officer, but some places are strict as hell.

I have run 5% all the way around on all of my vehicles for the past 12 years. I did get a ticket for it once though. I ended up stripping it off to get the ticket dropped and then put it right back on a day later.

I've just always cracked the windows when I saw DPS up the road when I had limo all the way around. Let some light in and they don't appear as dark.

If it is dark outside, then turn on the interior light.

25% is the light limit, so 35% is the darkest tint you can use, because the window blocks some by itself.

There are no restrictions on the back window as long as you have side view mirrors on both sides.

There's a lot of things to look out for when it comes to window tinting laws. I think Texas is a state where its even required for film to be certified. This is a good article I read http://detailwiz.com/window-tinting-laws/

I would love to have a doctors note for some dark *** tint. My eyes are sensitive and I love my privacy.

Wow this is a pretty old thread!

I still have the DR note. It doesn't make me 100% legal to have it but when I show it to the judge and if he/she isn't a "********" he/she will dismiss it.

I have blue eyes and really bright light(s) "irritate me" so whatever I can do to prevent "bright lights" especially while im driving is fine with me hens glasses but glasses aren't as cool as limo tint!

The medical term is "Photophobia"

I live in a smallish town and I know the guy that does them I basically walk up and he just hands me a sticker and I go put it on, but he knows how meticulous I am of my cars and everything working. Ill ask when I go back to get my new inspection soon.

i would say the best thing to do would be a phone call to your state reps office and ask them to investigate it, and mail you the findings. do whatever that letter says and keep it, and no judge will touch it. take the ticket, don't argue, dont fight, be nice to the cop, "have a nice day/be safe out there", etc. when you take that letter to court, the judge will shoot the cop a mean look so fast your head would spin. or, do what most people do. "sir, its an f-body, the window motors haven't worked in months..." they cant NOT give you a sticker for that, as there's no legal requirement i know of saying you have to have side windows anyway.

you cant have blue red or orange( amber )tint besides factory bmw and benz blueish glass

the color of your tint also factors to how dark its going to be. I have a dark green that is labeled 20% but you can see through it like a 35% grey tint. mirror tint at 30% ( pending how sunny it is ) has about the same translucency as a 15-10% black as far as clearly seeing someone behind it.
