And so it begins...

I was wondering when you were going to pick up another S Dime and start a new build. Going to keep the nitrous for this one too? Can't wait to see you prowling the streets again looking for unsuspecting customers. LOL

Yeah the cab had to be lifted, but we didn't have to notch the engine crossmember. Just picked up a h3 oil pan from the dealership along with the pickup tube and dipstick. What kind of fuel system are you gonna use?

this isnt my truck, (blue) its a good friend of mine, its actually a work / dd truck. for me, the original plan was to build the red truck. but it gets real good gas mileage. its slower than a 3 leg'd turtle with arthritis, but it dont cost **** to drive. so, im either gunna rebuild the old truck, (on the trailer) or get another rolling chassis. and there is a possible candidate i found. there will be LOTS more to come at a later date.

Do you have to keep the plastic cover? My alternator is smaller and you can swap to it as well if you needed to, stock alternator from a 87-92 Camaro, think i am the first to do this:

directly under the front of the plastic cover is the evap solonoid, it hits that if the cover isnt there. I dont think im gunna have an issue with the alternator.

Ok, well, a LS1 intake, LS6 or LS2 will solve that issue then.

the owner plans on changing the intake at a later date, plus the hood will be changed to a GMC Sonoma hood at the same time so there will be a hole cut in this hood in a few days

just different styles the sonoma hood dips down in the center, and the s10 hood comes to a point in the center

s10 hood

sonoma hood

there is no advantage to either hood other than style, I personally think he should get a cowl hood for cooling reasons.

When we pit the first engine in the ls10 we had a truck intake and the hood would close, just takenthe cover off, take the evap purge solenoid off and plug the hole, the hood will close. It will be tight but it will close and it won't touch

Time to start on the wiring and a little more fab work, the stock throttle cable was used off of the 4 cylinder, I just used both throttle cable brackets and made one to work. We are just getting rid of the wires that arent going to be used any more off of the factory S10 harness. If everything goes as planned the stock gauges will work, hopefully.

Nope just one for the engine. We needed the wires from the a/c, gauges, starter, and a few wires to power the 5.3 fuse block

I'm not sure that your factory 94 gauges will work with the 5.3 ECM, I believe you will need to use a 98 and up cluster for it to work.
