You should bring it to the guy who tuned it and knows it better than anyone. By the way, those 50k mile springs are used up by now. You need some PAC 1518 springs before you go any further.

Patrick I was gonna ask you about that. Was stock springs used the first time? I would think there would be more life out of them.

Do you have the valve spring tool?

whats done to the jeep?
the 6.1 springs have great life on mild cams.

infact, in the dodge world, spring life is a relative non issue because the stock PTV wont take more than mid 21x/mid 22x cams. without retarding them .
"big" on a stock displacement 6.1 is 219/223 with some of the larger stuff being in the 222/230 range.
even on on more aggressive lobes, these durations arent as brutal.

who did your tune the first time around?

i used a few different local tuners.. some made good power.. but none could get the drivability down. i ended up sending my tune to Johan at Diablosport.. and for a small tip in his paypal account, he gave me the best street tune i ever had with only 1 or 2 datalogs (and no wideband info). that dude has talent.

(i used to have a head/cam full intake/exh 5.7 charger... ran 12.30's@114)

what exactly is it doing? i can help you with a diagnosis.. i spent a long time working on dodges...

p.s.
are you on lxforums?

pat g,
dont you have a bit of experience with the hemi platform? steve frank had my cam ground
i ran PAC 1218 springs on mine.. dont know if i knew of many/any people running 1518's

I have Johan's tune as well same issue. Think I am going to replace the valve springs one weekend.

ahhh yes,
I love that cam in the jeeps.

I heard about that jeep from steve. what sort of behavioral problems is it having? a spring upgrade is never a bad thing, but that cam is on pretty mild lobes.

See that's what I was thinking. I don't wanna throw money away if it's really not the springs.

It's either misfiring, detonation or I have a vac leak somewhere. Sound is coming from the passenger side only. It happens when launching the car only. If I do a 60-130mph blast it's fine.

Johan sent me a tune made changes and said the logs looked fine, Patrick G has alot of time tuning it and it should be fine. Brian at ExoTorq looked at some logs I did last night and said the passenger side was off by as much as 15%.

Don't think Johan seen that as before I was just tracking cyl#1 info now I have all 8 logging.

At this point I am lost........ I just don't think this is spring related.....

i had an issue with valve cover/coil pack sealing around the injector tower and i was leaking oil into one of my cylinders.

Come to think about it. I know the prev owner didnt change the plugs and Patick prob did so these plugs have a good 30k miles on them.

with the cam, it might not hurt to go 1 heat range colder than stock
