Damnm, you are supposed to launch like this:




Get a 12 bolt or 9 inch with some deep gears and let it eat. Mine is a stock long block and it rolls out pretty good, pulling the tires with a 1.5 60 foot, it was a 7.1 1/8th pass, i am trapping higher as well, 96-97. Still have heads to go on it as well.


But as far as your car, you did something right, i hate red TAs and yours actually looks great with the wheel s.

well i dont think he cares that much about e.t,he does other types of racing,so i bet hes pretty happy.all in all eric it did better than i thought,thumbs up from me,i go to the track often and theres no fast or stout f bodys that are s.i,camonly,h/c/i.
as far as s.i mines the fastest i have seen
camonly is my friends ta and hes only trapping 114-115
and as for h/c/i yours is the fastest
i have seen a decent amount of c5 vettes,from boltons to camonly and the fastest camonly vette i have seen was a black lgx3 cammed z06 and he was trapping 117-118 and he was e.t streets

There have been quite a few of them run those times with very little weight taken out. I made a few dozen passes at around 11.9 on my 10 bolt with only the spare and back seat taken out. But I wasn't affraid to pop the 10 bolt either, that makes a big difference...

Jgarza54 is a Cam only and traps 119. His best 1/4 is 11.4 and best 1/8 is 7.2
This was done with A4 4L60E with my stall in my sig. But he 60ft pretty damn hard. 60ft 1.51 . He has a Trans brake now lol and he can't wait to see what he does now.

This car has a lot more in it.

yeah i know thats why i said a few of the above things,youre a good driver,houston has good da,and i bet good track prep.

everyones slow cause there your average cammed street cars,they think since they have a manual there fast,then they trow a cam in and they think there real fast till they put it on the 1320 from a dead stop,then realize tires are a must and gears also help,and a fbody with a ten bolt on sticky tires is very dangerous

i seen a black ls2vette with h/c/i and it was only trapping 121
the day i took my cobra out there was 3 c6zo6 with cai,and catback acting brave,and i would have too,since my cobra was just 2.8upper pulley only and needless to say they werent happy when i was going 11.5-11.7 @123,and they fastest of the three was running11.8@121,that 121 was the best mph of all 3 of them.

You should be able to cut a 1.7 with the stock rear end. You can't dump the clutch, but need to slip it.

Even slipping the clutch, trying to cut 1.7's on the stock rear is pushing it... hard.

This was "taking it easy" on a ten bolt in my RS when i had a stock carbed L98 with a 100 shot, i didnt even hit the button, firts pass was 13.87, thi was pass number 2, 1.87 60 foot on the first pass trying to be nuce.

^^^werd... That's happened to a **** ton of people many of them stock or damn ner it. I popped mine on the highway going into 3rd gear, you just never know.

i blew my 10bolt in my old ss with a cam and mt drag radials,best was a 1.96' then next pass it blew,then it blew going in to 2nd on the street with 275/40/17mt,so yeah they suck in a 6spd with stickey tires

does he run at s.a.r never seen it and also i think we are talking about 6spds here hes an auto,autos are easy to go fast.none the less that is fast with cam only

No he runs at Dallas Raceway.. I understand your talking about 6speeds.. We do have a few with the mods he has but I couldn't tell you if has a stock 10 bolt or not.

Id expect a lot more out of it than a 12.2. There are regular cab 5.3 silverados with a baby 220 cam and full bolt ons running 12.3s and they weigh atleast 500#s more, crap aerodynamics, have a much smaller cam, smaller engine, stock heads, and stock truck intake. Granted theyre not trapping 119 more like 108 but last time I checked most tend to care about getting from point A to B the fastest. Are the 10 bolts that shitty in the fbodys? I realize the 10 bolt in them has an inch smaller ring gear than the trucks but the trucks are pushing a lot more weight but theyre autos too... On the truck side a ta diff cover and a trutrac cures the rear end problems.

To the OP, I would say your mph is alittle low.. With your setup I think you should be somewhere in the 122-126mph if not more.. I know the track is not so much your cup of tea, judging by your vids, so 12s I can understand. Your car will definitely run faster the more seat time you get at the track so keep practicing.. With the hp your car is making, that 10 bolt is a ticking time bomb, whether you're at the track or not.. BTW Keep the mexico vids coming man, your car is definitely a beast from a roll.. Get you some seat time at the track and video your improved times..

Thanks! The car will be under the knife for a while, so I won't have anymore time at the track with this setup. Starting the teardown for the turbo build after tx2k11.

I'm sure we'll have lots of Mexico footage from tx2k11, I'll be going with a couple buddies from here; turbo cobra, TT TBSS, and a 408 truck... should be fun

Yeah, Im going to try to make it on Friday but will only be there that night.. I have quite a few friends that have some money races down there..
