if you wanna make those goals you need 2 jobs.
Work day and night. I worked 60 hrs a week in college, and also pulled in 2 degrees.
yeah i remember doing that from august to the end of december, had a day job at a high end movie theatre and a night job as a night guy at a dog kennel/school. Went to college 15 miles away each way every single day, 5 days a week, and on some days id go back and forth several times a day. Was tough, had no life, but the lessons it taught me have been invaluable And i was happy at least. Would do it again if i had a time machine and had the choice, though i might do it a bit smarter and better planned.
you can party anytime you want. You gotta decide what you want, like someone else here said, bitches, cars or education... Pick 2 of the 3.
haha i picked the car and education a long time ago. Once the car is out of the way the bitches will come on their own i've wanted a black procharged ta way longer than ive wanted to pursue women though, and my car will always be with me, a woman (most likely) won't.
If anything, if i knew for sure that i'd get the car i want and have some money saved for paying for living costs in college, i would much rather work my *** off hard at work and school and continue to be alone for the next 14 months. It keeps me less distracted, less attachments to texas, keeps me focused on my goal, and it will make me hate work and school less knowing that i wouldn't have a friends party to attend or something, know what i mean?
personally i hated ca. It's not worth the $ you pay to go there. Sorry, don't feel like dropping 2k a month for a 1000 sq ft **** hole. Each to there own. You just need to go out and meet people if you want friends, or go out to the car shows... I would think since your in the service industry you'd have tons of friends. I know my best friends were my regulars and people i took care of every night and i still keep in touch. My wife still works in the industry and she has lots of friends from work....
definitely don't plan to live there after college, but i was just starting to really enjoy life there, this time a year ago was the happiest time of my life. I agree about the stupid costs of living, but i think my biggest gripe is i made such an awesome life for myself there that i was taken from it at it's climax and i want to leave on my own time, you know? Not 3 days after graduation and having the worst summer of my life
The service industry might benefit me more if my job wasn't so far away from where i live and i wasn't one of the youngest ppl who works in the restaurant. No one really my age comes in, and ever since ive moved here ive had a bad luck streak of seeing people my age, talking to them, asking their age and they're like 22-25... Being 18 sucks haha
good luck what ever you decide on.
Oh yeah and if you sit down and do the math you really don't save **** with a 600 as a dd when you factor in the price tag of buying it, then insurance (u need full coverage unless you pay cash for it, then your an idiot not to since if you wreck it and you will they are normally totalled), tag, tax and then wear and tear. 600's will get decent mpg yes i agree, but only when you baby it, and will you really baby it? It will take you quite a few years to make up for the gas savings, might as well just get your ta procharged like you want it and then drive it... But that's just me. If your really trying to save money for gas get a late 90's toyota or honda that still gets 40 mpg and you can pay cash for it for like 2 grand.... You will really save that way. I drove the crap out of a 92 corolla in ca and it got 40+ mpg. Driving it for work is how i paid for my z06 lol.
you can get 40 mpg out of a 90's honda??? I wanted the gsxr originally for looks and because i love bikes, and the mpg was a bonus (ones i was looking at we're about 4.5-5k), but you have a very good point about insurance. Tagging and registering has to be done with any vehicle though, so i don't factor that in to costs. Babying it, i'm not sure. I wouldn't want to go super fast with it, i'd have the procharged ta for that and one wrong move and i'm fucked. Would have to actually own it or be on the verge of it to know how i'd ride it regularly. Will definitely look into a honda for a dd though, i've always thought accords were pretty nice

Damn don't sound so happy. Sounds like you need to find the right places to go. Been here forever with the exception of about ten years . Have to admit though haltom is not the best. I'm an old fart almost 40 but my oldest sons are 18 and 20 they could probably point you in the right direction. One is in la. Right now and the other is in college in Wichita falls but he comes up on the weekends that he can get away from his girl friend. He'll try going to the tracks or car meets/ trips to Mexico. Lots of people your age some are a pain in the sass though

This town is definitely uninteresting haha, you guys got that right for sure. Since July last year my car has been hit 3 times when I was away from it, once in the headlight cover on the DS, the rear quarter panel on the DS, and the front PS fender/bumper. Working on replacing all of those, and the stock dash has been mangled since I bought it (had a dash cover glued on), that needs to be replaced as well. And the sunvisors (especially DS) and the PS door. Ashtray lid needs to be fixed. Center console lid seems a little loose, like an issue with the button, just discovered that yesterday
So with all that I'm a little ashamed/embarassed to bring it to a show, what kills me is that only once part of the damage on it was my fault, the rest either happened when I wasn't around, before I bought the car, or once when I parked in the car and a truck backed into my door
But hey, at least my new window motor for the near completely dead DS window came in yesterday, and can replace it in 2 days when I'll have time
One the car is decent looking once more and in sellable condition I'll really put my nose to the grinder for that Procharged TA

Umm dude, I was using Mexico in the same reference he was. Believe me, i know what taking a trip to Mexico means. I have no interest taking a trip to "Mexico".

Not sure where you got his son being in Mexico out of that. Looks like one of his son's is in CA and the other in Kansas. He was suggesting I take a "trip to Mexico", but my horribly slow v6 would be slaughtered

Elite-Let me preface this by saying I dont mean anything derogatory by my post just my pure opinion after paying my way through life.
Through HS I worked at different restaraunts and once I graduated was able to work better hours, I became friends with a lot of people at work and ALWAYS had something to do. Either the people where you work really suck or you need to work on your people skills. At all the restaraunts/bars I worked at i atleast made a couple of friends. I dont know what type of restaraunt you work at but find a job at one that is "fun". I worked at Joes Crab Shack in Kemah and had a blast, and the type of waiters that work at a place like that are interested in partying and having a good time.
While youre in school and waiting tables Id give up on the procharged modded TA dream. A procharger is only a small part of the equation, to make that blown TA a RELIABLE DD will cost a lot of money that tips waiting tables at a normal restaraunt arent going to pay for. Keep your TA mild, take the money saved and use it towards chasing women. You are in the PRIME of your life for women(well maybe 3 more years when youre 21 but close enoguh), cars will always be around. Pay your bills, do well in school and have a social life, dont be a slave to that car whether it be working on it or working to pay for parts. you can always build something later, you cant get the days youre living in now back.
At 25, Ive got a wife and kid, it is great but I had a blast when I was your age, get out there and make this time of your life worth its while. Prochargers will still be around after you graduate. Dom had a good point, buy you a cheap *** beater that will cost you 30 bucks to insure a month and knock down 40+ a gallon. Drive it to campus where it will get beat to **** and keep your TA clean for a date-mobile and cruising. Car meets are a good place to meet some cool people, a lot of my friends in real life I met because of this site and meets that I attended. Everyone on here has a common interest and youd be surprised that you might find there are a lot more interests you share in common. The other common denominator around here seems to be alcohol
Keep your head up, Texas is the best place to be, give it a chance, I think your opinion might change
