Looking for a new pocket knife, enter all ye knife enthusiasts
well my car got broken into last night ( left it unlocked ). anyways, the bastard made off with 3 pocket knives i had in the center console and a flashlight i kept in the glove box. one was a crappy jeep knife someone from work gave me, one was a custom made knife my girlfriend had made for me, and the other was the one i usually use for work.
the one i used for work was a Gerber e-z out skeleton (http://cdn1.cheaperthandirt.com/ctd_...prod/72675.jpg) that my dad had bought me when i was 12 or 13. 10 years later, it was still in good shape with absolutely no problems except the blade was slightly corroded. now that im in the market for another knife, im considering buying another ez out but also looking at other blades.
i was wondering if any of yall had a recommendation for a nice and solid, inexpensive knife. it must be a folding knife with a locking blade. no swiss army or leatherman type knives. its primary use would be just a general purpose utility knife. i used my old one for just about everything from cutting boxes and stripping wires to digging out splinters and camping use. i dont plan on getting into any knife fights behind a 7-11, so nothing too big and heavy. right around 3-3.5 inch blade would be ok.
as of yet im looking at:
-another gerber ez out
-cold steel recon 1
-sog trident
any feedback would be great. thanks

I use a SOG Sogzilla everyday. I think they have a few different sizes and colors but I have the ~3 inch version. Works great for me and I use it pretty close to daily. Its pretty similar in shape to the one gerber you had.

I would recommend Benchmade knives, I have a couple of them. They are pricey but they last a lifetime and sharpen up to the sharpest out of all the knives ive owned. And they have an excellent warranty program if it is needed...lost a screw on mine and sent it in with a letter and they sent me a brand new knife..cant beat that

Benchmade is the best in my book but a little expensive. I would also recommend smith and wesson. I have a whole collection of s&w and use one all the time at work. Another good work knife is C.R.K.T. rhazel (I think that's how its spelled). Can't go wrong with kershaw either.

I have a SOG Flash II that I carry everyday. It has been with me for 3 deployments and has been used multiple times on a daily basis for all kinds of jobs the past 4 years that I have had it. The knife is also still in like new condition.
