What do G8 gxps really run?

And I also just drove a 2011 auto ss and I was kinda dissapionted.

The automatic G8 is quicker than the manual. Same with the CTS-V. These aren't sportscars, they are heavy cruisers. It isn't even that much fun to bang the gears in the overweight Camaro.

All kidding aside, did you do anything to your car and did you post anywhere about getting into the 11's?
I think people finally got tired of seeing your beautiful car turn 12.0's @ 125 mph.

The auto gxp vs the m6 gxp...the m6 will dyno about 30whp more but that doesn't make it quicker. The autos are more consistently running 12s in stock trim than the m6's are. It's all drivetrain loss. The thing about a g8...especially the GXP is the fact that if you catch one on a roll you may have a better race on your hands than the 1/4 et will lead you to believe. These cars weigh 4k lbs. It takes alot to get them out of the hole, but once they're moving, they're moving! My car goes almost 110mph to run a 12.9. Most cars run a better et with a 110mph trap. I've suprised a few people.

Also, manual GXP's are almost impossible to find. I've seen only one, same with CTS-V's.

maybe faster in the 1/4 but not faster in a roll race

Well, with other cars this is the case. My 6 speed ws6 would always walk similar modded autos from a roll. Its the ability to drop a gear and keep the rpms up. With a manual the power is instant. With an auto you have to wait for the tranny to downshift before you start

Bill, throw all your automatic trans knowledge based on 4th gens out the window. The same logic we used on the A4 vs M6 arguments back then do not apply to the newer generation of 6-speed automatics.
The 6-speed autos have less parasitic drivetrain loss, better spaced gears to keep your engine in the correct powerband, more aggressive early gears to get the car moving, quicker shifts, etc...
These new cars are all independent rear axle, the auto trans helps greatly reduce any wheel hop, and the gearing/converter get them off the line better.
Roll racing them on the highway is about equal, based on my experience. The 6-spd auto downshifts perfectly and quickly.

The A6 has the sport mode or whatever its called that you can put it in if you're worried about dowshifting.
I liked the way they felt when we test drove them. It was lightyears ahead of the TBSS that you could count to 10 after you floor it before it would downshift.
The biggest complaint I have about the M6 is where the clutch engages. Its too far up for my liking.

Just to clarify, those bone stock times in the earlier posts by Booster and Goat were with drag tires if I'm not mistaken. Correct me it I'm wrong.
Factory G8 powertrain quick summary:
G8: Who cares
G8 GT: 6.0L V8 (LS76) 361hp, auto only.
G8 GXP: 6.2L V8 (LS3 ?) 415hp, auto or M6.
G8 Firehawk: G8 GT with a supercharger 500hp
As for G8 autos at a roll, they such. I have to stomp it just before the second honk so the car will go after the third.

Yes, the automatic Camaro has an L99 which is a dod motor, very similar to the L76. Not sure the exact differences.
I ran my 12.9s on drag radials...in warm weather with a 2.0 60ft. I ran 13.0 in cool weather with a 1.9 60ft. Both at 109mph.
