Default Anybody else have issues with AT&T internet services???

Ive been trying to upgrade my DSL internet to a faster speed. AT&T keeps giving me the run around saying that where i live cannot support the higher speed. Well I had a AT&T tech come out to my house todat to check my lines because i was having connection problems. He said that i could support a 1.5mb internet with no problem. BTW i currently only have a 768k service. So i call AT&T and ask them about this and get no where with them. Anybody on here have tips or how i should go about this?

I've got the 12mb service with AT&T & I have no complaints. I've run speed tests that show my speed is what I'm paying for.

You should have asked the tech to upgrade it for you. But if all you can get is less than a 1.5m service i would be looking at other providers.

the technician can usually upgrade it for you.. if youre only getting 1.5Mb then theres probably an issue with the distance you are from the CO or the distance you are from the cross box. If its an issue to where when you call in and they dont let you order it. the technician may be able to get ahold of an engineer and get that area set up for 1.5 instead of a lower speed.

Let me just throw this in there....I had the 1.5 and was told over the phone by ATT that I could get faster internet so I upgraded to 3.0. Well I had nothing but problems so I called in and they told me I was having problems because I wasnt able to get anything over 1.5. So they switched it back and the problems went away!

yeah i called and spoke to a broadband tech for att and he ran a line test for me and said that my line was capable of supporting 3.8mb. I told him my situation and he said that the sales computer hadn't been updated so he updated it for me. So im gonna try and call back in the morning and hopefully ill have better luck...

I am having problems with any kind of decent speeds. I am having to reset the ATT router about once a day. I have asked other folks in the area and they are having the same problems too.

depends on your area/service provider, but the upload is def pretty weak. mine is 12 down 1.5 up. downspeed is def more important though.
