I'm gonna be on sportsman's road tonight thru the weekend fishing the lights at the end of my gf's pier, wade fishing, and setting a couple of my big surf rod setups out if anybody would like to join me. My gf usually fishes with me til about midnight/1am and then is either "cold" or "tired" so goes in to bed and that's when the fishing really heats up! I'm usually up all night catching fish til daylight.

It's probably one of the best spots (IMO THE best)to fish at night in Galveston. I've caught thousands of trout, redfish, flounder, and shark off this pier over the years. If any of you other anglers out there would care to trade a night or 2 of fishing at my pier for a half day on your bay boat that'd be great! I wouldn't mind chipping in on gas either. I love fishing green lights, brings the ghost minnows in like crazy. I rent a beach house on the bay side for a week and fish till the stop biting, then its time to hit the bay! Good luck

Thats bad ***. I have been fishing the end of sportsman road for nearly 10 years. We have caught quite a few fish. I have a kayak that is great to get around out there in the marsh. Caught lots of fish in the channel in front of all the houses too. How many light do you have in the water?

Damn, wish I had a boat to trade. My buddy and I usually go wade fishing either at the TX City Dike or San Luis Pass. Was hitting decent sized croakers at the dike and several just keeper size black drum at the pass last weekend.

Where is sportsmans road by the way? I've heard of it before but definitely never been down there.

Had a bad *** few days of fishing to say the least. If you were working that sucks, you should have called in sick! In total we probably caught around 150 trout from 17-25 inches, a couple flounder, and a jack fish. All fish were caught on mirror lures, TTF killer flats minnows and Huckleberry Hustlers. Great day to be on the water, will be back on the boat tomorrow morning! Enjoy..
