Default Man blames F&F for police chase

http://www.kltv.com/story/14573803/troup-man-blames

TROUP, TX (KLTV) – Authorities say that Chad Thibodeaux, an East Texas man arrested after a high-speed chase, blamed his need to speed on a movie.

The chase started in Bullard and didn't end until Highway 110 in Troup. Authorities say his sports car was seen speeding through a neighboring town.

Authorities say Thibodeaux zoomed by, topping out at 110 miles per hour. "On the video tape, he acknowledged that he was just coming from the movies and I believe he said he was coming from the Fast and Furious Five, which involved a lot of police chases," Constable Dustin Rust says.

Rust says it took about 15 minutes for Thibodeaux to admit he was just imitating what he saw minutes before on the big screen.

This stunt landed Thibodeaux in a pair of handcuffs.

Rust says, "If you run from law enforcement, you will go to jail. You will get caught."

Thibodeaux is charged with reckless driving and out of jail on a $500 bond.

Lucky they didn't slap on a charge of felony evading. I've seen street racing bail set higher and that is only a class B misdemeanor. If the reckless driving is the only charge, he caught a big break.
