Good luck. In '08 I was in Baghdad for a year at Liberty and 4 months at Balad (back in '04 when it REALLY sucked) as a civilian. I did all of last year in Kuwait. Get the $$ while they're still handing it out over there.

i did 08-09 in jalalabad afghan as military but with the back issue dosnt look like ill be going back for awhile, i loved the pay but being away from home sucked

 

I did civilian work as an aircraft parts coordinator for the Army. I left early for personal reasons. Its not all that bad....but theres quite a few things that are hard to get used to. If I got a chance I would go back. I have nothing now holding me back now like a house payment or a wife.

 

I was a MRAP mechanic. I've gotten a few offers from contractors to go back, but right now I'm just gonna hang out around the house. Being gone 2 out of the last 3 years has taken a toll on me, and my daughter just turned 5 so I've got some catching up to do.
