Default Damn 10 bolt

So the seal blew out on the pass. side axle on my way from California. I replaced it and I'll be damned if it isn't leaking again. I must have messed up the seal when putting the new one in. Time to do it all over again. I will probably wait until next week and just order the Moser axles from Jaws on here. How do you normally put the seals in so that they don't get jacked up. On a side note... I guess the title of this thread should be "Damn wanna-be mechanics"

I wouldn't waste my money on axels. Take the money and put it towards a 12 bolt.

Axles are only 89 bucks each versus 2300 for the 12 bolt. I would be about 2100 short ATM. So I have no other choice if I want to drive it in the mean time.

With all the broke *** 10 bolts you could find one real cheap and pc it together. So that you can buy yourself some time to get a mo-betta reara-end.

I thought about posting in classifieds for a used passenger side axle. Mine just has a nice bearing groove and all. I am trying to save for either a 9" or 12 bolt so trying to fix it "just enough for now"

I actually only need a passenger side with reluctor wheel for TC unless it can be taken off and put on the new axle. Let me know.

hey i need the same axle im pretty sure mines bent if replaced bearing and seal 4 times now in year and half

as for the seal go to auto zone tell them you need a race seal installer, its just a lil handle with some flat disks that attach to it and hammer the seals in

heres the part number from auto zone
Part Number: 27119

Ok thanks for this the tip on installation. I will make sure to get it. I am pretty sure I messed the seal up putting it in. I used a hammer and 2x4 cause its what I had. I figured it would be ok.

I think Motivesports (or something like that) has a complete 10 bolt for cheap in the Texas Classifieds section

Yeah, that guy is all the way in Austin and it has the 2.73 gears. I will probably just order shafts.

If you can wait a couple weeks I could send you mine with 4.10 gears. Long trip though.
