Default How to get paper plates?

I just got a new car. I traded my camaro for a '64 Ford Falcon. (insert Ford joke here) I'm trying to figure out how to get paper plates for it to drive around until I can get up to the courthouse to get antique plates. The guy I traded has a couple other antique cars that are linked to the plate on the car so he kept it. I drove home with the front plate off the Camaro on the car. I need to drive it up to work to install some parts that I got for it. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated...

Get an insurance for it and then go with the proof of insurance (must show that particular vehicle, so your current insurance card will not work) to the county tax office and you are all set. IIRC it's 25 bucks (cash only) for 30 day paper tags.

That's the way I have done it a few times when I have needed them.

Texfinn is right, Thats all you need to show is proof of insurance for that vehicle. He's also right cash only, don't wait in line if you don't have the cash ($25).

Hmm... So I can get temp plates without registering it? That seems weird and pointless. I might as well just get up to the tax office to get plates. It's just hard to get up there with my work schedule.

On a side note, does anyone know the rules on antique plates? Or using model year plates. Milage restrictions? Inspection stuff? Registration sticker? etc...

Has to be 25 years old. I think 3000 miles or less a year. I don't think antiques are inspected, but classics are. I see year models plates all the time, but don't know the restrictions on them.

Oh you work for Chase? Are you part of his "race team"? lol

We've been slow as hell. I'm about breaking even from my last shop. Summer should be bringing a bunch of business.

Im his service manager. Haha his lemons team is a joke. It doesn't actually exist. He always tells me how he plans to get a car but everyone at my shop is broke and lazy. Im the only one over the last year that has had any projects.

Everyone is slow right now. Its a tough time of season. We should all pick up soon, well hopefully cause we need to bonus. At least your are getting to work with big-A. He is a pretty cool guy.

Yeah big A is bad ***.

Hopefully when we get our inspection machines, we'll be able to get a lot more work. I'm headed to class next week.
