He wants to much for it is why.

His starting price would be my max price for that car.

I don't think he's asking too much. I just saw an 88 turbo go for 55K. Plus he's done all major maintenance which is not cheap.

The 88 must have been mint cond and with super low miles. Because if not they got ripped.

Buy it now $18.5k

I think $15K is probably reasonable, given the amount of work put into it.

I updated the thread, too. Let me know if any of you guys are interested.

I guess I can post this in the classifieds, too.

it was an 88 turbo, we own an 87 with all 930 turbo options, it got appraised at well over 18.5K. Then again a car is only worth what someone is gonna pay for it. They're nice dependable cars and love to be driven, someones getting a good deal on the OP's.

it looks like a nice car, I sold my '77 which is admittedly possibly one of the worst model years ever and I got 15,000 for mine.... it's all what someone is willing to pay, but, pelican parts has one of the most active forums out there for anything porsche related, if you want to sell it, I would try there.

rennlist is another popular forum. although you need to be a contributor ($15) to post cars for sale.

There are 2 things that kill the value of OP's car.

First, it is a Targa. Coupes are much more desirable as the rear/side window looks much better.

Second, the interior color is not desirable. Most guys wanting an older 911 want a black interior.

A buddy recently bought a '91 coupe that is white over black, with less miles, in comparable condition for $17,000. OP's car would sell at $13k IMO. I'd ask $13,900 and deal.

Well, apparently, I had the wrong price. He's asking $20,500 now.

That car brings back good memories. I banged the coconuts of this fine hoe by the lake back in the day. Oh ya it's priced high.

There are tons of Porsche buyers on E-Bay and Craigs list. The fact that the car has not sold proves that it is priced way too high. Some good points above about what hurts the car's desirability (and ultimate selling price).

Well, I repeated that to the guy's son (my manager). He said his dad is not in a hurry to sell it.
