Well I couldn't last more than a month without starting to mod the truck.
I had already cut off the muffler and cranked up the torsion bars to make it look a little less anemic but it wasn't cutting it. I came across some H2 wheels that are powdercoated black and had ProComp 315 70 R17 already installed and got them for $500 cash.
I had to max out the torsion bars but will be adding a level kit and 1" blocks with all new shocks within the next two weeks. I don't expect the tires to last very long with the 200+ miles that I drive everyday but it looks good.
Sorry for the horrible pics, I picked up a new Nikon Coolpix and it sucks ***!

Before I installed the bigger tires, I got 16 mpg from Goliad to Alvin but I haven't checked it with the bigger tires. Pretty sure it dropped a little. I am currently looking for products that will help mpg like a programmer and free flowing exhaust but I am getting a level kit/alignment with new shocks next weekend.
It finally rained out here yesterday for the first time in about 4 months so all of the coliche roads out here were sloppy. Made fun times but had to spend 15 minutes last night trying to knock the crust off from underneath.

Once these wear down I will probably replace them with some BFG A/T in the same size but a little quieter on the road and should get more miles out of them.
I have also heard that PPE makes a nice kit, they even have a black series out now that interests me. I will probably put in an EGR block plate soon and a CAI kit. I like Volant but with the roads I am mostly on, I would rather have a dry filter. After that stuff I will probably look for a used programmer but not in a big hurry for everything. I want to get larger trany and diff covers and a trany cooler to help the longevity.

I blocked my EGR and did the fingerstick. I also have high flow manifolds and up-pipes. I don't think the bang for the buck is there for mileage, but I am really happy with overall results from that mod.
The BFG AT's will do well on that truck with the use you are looking at.
If you have the 6 speed Allison, a transgo jr is cheap and easy to install. I have one on the shelf for my truck that I need to find time to install. It will help keep you from wasting the transmission if you turn the power up on something like PPE.
you will probably want to put the longer shocks or the correction kit for cranking the torsion bars up so you don't trash your ball joints. This will improve the ride with the torsion bars cranked up too.

The shocks will be longer than stock, I might add 3" blocks to the rear once the level kit is installed just to give it more clearance. Right now, there are no blocks in the rear at all and the front actually sits slightly higher to clear the wheels.
I have an auxilary fuel tank in the bed and put $150 in it and yet still did not fill it up.

A leveling kit will do the same as the cranked bars. (they both allow the torsion bar to twist the a-arm into a lower position, creating lift) You might notice a harsh ride since it will be running near or on the lower bumpstops. Hopefully an alignment was done after the crank too.
But, It looks great!
