I'm in Austin what's fun to do?

Yeah, I first moved here in 2004 and decided to go with a group to Barton Springs pool. I heard it was cold but everyone had me convinced it wasn't so I jumped in head first. Bad idea.
The bats only come out before sunset for feeding so I'm guessing around 4 or 5, you should be good. The bridge gets a little crowded. If you want to do the boat tour, just give them a call and they'll give you a time.
As for Freddy's, ever since I moved from south Austin to Cedar Park I can't stay away from that place.

The gristmill (sp?) in Gruene was cool. It is all open with no a/c though. At least they did not have it on Saturday. I had the Gristburger and it was great!

I don't know if you've had your fill of BBQ yet, but I've got two words for you:
FRANKLIN'S BBQ
900 E. 11th Street
Austin, TX 78702
I'll put it simply like this: If you're not in line for food by 11:00am, you will be SOL as it will be SOLD OUT.
They've been open for 2yrs almost & already have a national reputation & are quite possibly being labeled *THE BEST IN THE NATION*. I can say that their brisket is THE BEST I've ever had.

At Amy's get the mexican vanilla.
I usually do mexican vanilla, strawberrys, crushed waffle cone. Can add some fudge if you want. They usually have some combonation's for you to choose from, and the employees are pretty entertaining. Usually actors or musicians. Once tried to serenade the g/f one time, was interesting and pretty good.

Yup, they are all good.
The hard thing about seafood in Austin is it gets pricey at times, but Truelucks, Eddie V's,
and Quality Seafood Market are all good choices. Quality Seafood is more of a low key place non flashy place. The other two are more expensive and nicer, but the food is great at all 3.
The Boiling Pot on 6th is alot of fun to.

Basically Everything is cooked in a pot, and all the tables are lined with butcher paper. Your given a hammer and some utinsels for cracking claws and so no. They bring the pot out once done and pour it onto the table. Comes with Corn, potatoes, sausage. Everything is whole, with the exception of Stone and King crab, which are legs. So it's heavy Cajun and more of a boil style.
I also forgot about Perla's on congress.

As for the bbq I'm all about eating more. My wife wanted sea food. We looked around a little but wife wanted to get some quick so we could do other things tonight "so we had red lobster" kids are swimming now before we head to austin to see the bats and get ice cream at amy's. Any cool thing to see in austin when I'm there?
