Default Ever recieve a "Reckless Damage Control" (Peeling out in sand) ticket?

Well I did and its a $500 fine . I was in soft sand trying to weave me way out of it and cops saw this (on the beach of course) and thought I was peeling out. Cop was yelling at me when he came up to me. Wasn't going to argue with the cop. He seemed pretty pissed.

Anyway i can have this reduced or defensive driving. Happen down at surfside.

i doubt its the potential damage but rather what the cop thought he was doing that got him the ticket. im sure theres all sorts of douchebags in jeeps or trucks that get a kick out of kickin up sand like billy badass. i'd fight the ticket and explain to the judge what happened. but i have to ask, what were you doing driving such a nice car onto a beach in the first place? i would have been afraid of getting stuck

never seen that one before, but I did get an "exhibition of excessive acceleration" ticket about 13 years ago when I was in a parking lot. It was my fault and took the fine and paid it.

Good luck.

Plead not guilty and ask for a pretrial hearing. At the pretrial hearing, explain the circumstances to the prosecutor. He may offer a deal for less, or even may ask the judge to dismiss it outright - depends on the prosecutor. If that fails, you can ask for a jury trial and tell your side to the jury. I wouldn't ask for a trial before the judge (bench trial). Your best bet is with a jury.

Just a little inside knowledge to help ya out...

Well I hired my traffic lawyer who isn't pricey at all. He looked at ticket and had a confused face as to what the offense was. Looked it up and just laughed. He then asked so did you damage anyone's property. I said no, unless sand is someones property. He goes on and tells me there is no case and that he is going to make it trial by jury.

What happen was I was backing up to get into a pose with a truck. Put it in first with TC off (in case I were to get stuck) and gave it some throttle while turning. Tired broke loose and I let off throttle. This caused me to get sideways barely. Cop sees it and runs up on me yelling. On top of that he was training a chick officer. So he was showing off and had the chick write me up a ticket for no seatbelt, driving wrong way and reckless dmg control..

Were you doing this on public property or in a parking lot? Parking lots are private property. I would have fought that ticket!
