you can't clear the codes with a scan tool. You need to tune them out via software like hp tuners etc

well did you just run down and delete the ses light @ you near by parts store or did someone (prior owner,s) actually take the time or money to delete or put in O2 simulators?

So it wont pass visual but it will pass the computer test if tuned out I can make my own 02 simulators but I was gonna have my egr tuned out I got so many shops that dont check visual. So when you tune them out how does it effect the readyness test? Anybody got a car that has them tuned out that I can scan and check to see for myself

I used to be an inspector till I changed jobs and don't do them at my current shop. I Needed to get my T/A inspected so I took it to a buddies shop. On the way there I was watching the readiness and had 2 not readies they were o2 and o2 sensor heater. I changed the o2's to no error reporting with hp tuners and reflashed the ecm. I had 1 not ready and did the state on it and passed. You can have 1 not ready. As long as they don't look under the car for cats you will be ok. If they do then just say they are inside the pipes, lol.

So when you tune them out they show up as not ready or not supported?

I really need to get my egr tuned out but I am scared it wont pass the plug in part of the inspection. I don't care about the visual part.

is there a way i can tell if it is tuned properly for this? I am potentially buying a vehicle without cats and the owner doesn't know how it was tuned.

I told you guys it would pass.

My Corvette has no EGR, no cats, no secondary pump, and has a 418cubic inch LS3 and it passes no problem. LoL

I've tuned out many EGR's, Cats, pumps etc with no problems on both f-bodies and trucks.

If you don't have a check engine light it should pass.

I'm in the same boat, no egr, no cats. I just got a ticket today and I just got it running again last week so with my luck I'd find the one place that does do visual. Can i get a pm or a few of places you guys had luck with? Thanks!

if you have hptuners why are you not using it to make the obd2 show ready? that's the great thing about hp tuners you can do that.

I have no cats and I pass hp tuners is the chit!
