There is a place where my husband got his passed and the cats are failing. The guy just charged him double. It's in Haltom City, so just PM me if you want to know where.

For my inspections I make the drive up to Bryan/CS where it costs 14.50. 4 years without cats and I've never had an issue.

however if you have a houston address on your DL, and you don't have emissions inspection you can get a ticket if they want to give you one. Just saying....

****... go buy two junk cats and cut them in half, 'long ways.' gut them out, take just the shell and stick them on to your catless mids with a couple of tack welds. WHAMMY!!...

instant inspection passage.

No I didn't pay, he didn't actually begin the emissions portion. If you pay and fail you have a certain timeframe to fix the issue and take it back and pass without paying again.

Sent you a PM.

I went to a different place today, they failed me cause one of my rear nittos didn't have deep enough tread! It's not bald, the guy doing it was a dick and wouldn't check the depth with me there.

The inspection law states that the limit is 3/32nds (aka, the wear bars on the tire tread) and if the tire is worn down to the wear bars (or 3/32nds) on two conjoining treads then it fails. He should have shown you why it failed though. Check the tire for what I mentioned and take it back to have it redone if it's ok.
