Yeah, they did ride my *** about using aluminized steel for the cold side, I never had ANY issues with it, IAT's were about the same as aluminum.

As far as welding, I never welded the cold side at all, just used couplers.

BUUUUUT, if your talking about the downpipe, yeah, I did not have any 4" bends so had to create my own. This pic is before I grinded all the welds and wrapped, but hey, I had to do what I had to do. Not bad considering I used a reciprocating saw and made angle cuts/welded up... Shut up JP....

I was in a time crunch at that point as I was fixing to start traveling that next week for work. Had to get it done so I could get it to RPM so they could tune it. After it was ground down and wrapped it looked great, so that is good work.

Not really. It ran 8.0's and looks like it only made power from 5200-6200. Great powerband and equally awesome craftsmanship

Not bad at all for home built piping and minimal tools. It worked that's all that matters. If you kept it you could have improved it. But for a slap together deal it got the job down of making decent power and getting down the road.

Did you brace the turbo? That's one of the things I wanted to see in a pic.

Thanks brother. Yeah, I really just threw that motor in to mock up everything, get it running and see what happened. Was going to build a forged shortblock but it was holding up so good I decided to see how much it would handle. Made several 12-18psi pulls on the hwy, not a miss, still running to this day as the new owner is building a forged shortblock. BUT never had the timing above 15 deg. Very safe tune..

I did not make a brace for the turbo but was planning to brace is later. I honestly can't wait to see what my notch does when I'm done. I hoping 750-900rwhp. Guess I will see...

I would have turned it up till it popped before I built it. That's what I have always done though, I am always amazed at how much a stock internal motor can handle with good tuning.

Your SS may not have had the baddest of the bad on it but it is more badass than mine so props to you on that. I would love to boost mine. I had a fully built turbo Integra before the Camaro and boost (turbo, not a fan of sc's) is so damn addictive. I was hitting it with a big wet shot before I turbo'd it and still loved the turbo far more. I did buy the big expensive kit for it but realized later it really wasn't worth the extra cash, I could have pieced it together and saved money and ran harder. Feel free to come over and chop some pipe on mine any time. I don't give a **** if the pipe is ugly, as long as it works and makes power, that is all that matters.
